Trump issues 90 day pause on some tariffs

It certainly will discourage any US companies from building manufacturing centers here.
 
If you take a shit in the aisle at the grocery store, I think most people are going to be upset and not care if you clean it up and then take credit for doing so.
 
Sounds like China had Trump spooked. He folded on all other tariffs in less than 24 hrs after they went into effect. Now he needs to figure out how to deal with China

Ironically, I was having that very conversation with my broker yesterday.

This was not the result of countries calling. It was a response to billionaire buddies wailing. Bessent flat out lied, repeatedly, to the press and American public just moments ago.

Trump said it was a good time to buy, and then the markets rip higher an hour later.

That isn't market manipulation.

They will. The tariffs from both sides are so high both economies are going to be severely handicapped.

He’ll fold on China as well. What we need to figure out is when. I’m guessing about 3-4 weeks since his tariffs don’t apply to goods already in water, and the trans pacific shipping time is some 4 weeks or so. He’ll cancel China tariffs just as boats leaving China today arrive at our ports.

Trump can only marvel at the level of control the Chinese leadership exercises over the people.
