This might be a good place to reminisce on my race relations training when I went to boot camp.
There we sat, Whites and Blacks, Latinos, Filipinos, all different ethnicities from all over Europe and all over Latin America. The instructor basically told us that we were all prejudiced bigots. Everyone, no matter how "enlightened" we considered ourselves to be. The Navy didn't give the smallest damn how prejudiced any of us might be. What the Navy cared about, was that we RESPECTED our fellow sailors. If Seaman Jimmy Smith didn't like Black people, no one cared, no one needed to know, so long as Seaman Jimmy Smith treated all his shipmates the same. No one cared that Tyrone might not like White people, or that Jose might not like Cubans.
All these decades later, I look at the Liberal/Progressive/Democrat part of the population, and I think they would have benefited from boot camp. Hey, I don't really care that you don't like me because I am apparently white. But you assholes need to treat me the same as you treat anyone else.
