He continues to manipulate the unemployment numbers to make them look better than they are.

When the U.S. government’s official jobs report for May came out on Friday, it included a note at the bottom saying there had been a major “error” indicating that the unemployment rate likely should be higher than the widely reported 13.3 percent rate.

The special note said that if this “misclassification error” had not occurred, the “overall unemployment rate would have been about 3 percentage points higher than reported,” meaning the unemployment rate would be about 16.3 percent for May. But that would still be an improvement from an unemployment rate of about 19.7 percent for April, applying the same standards.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics, the agency that puts out the monthly jobs reports, said it was working to fix the problem.

“BLS and the Census Bureau are investigating why this misclassification error continues to occur and are taking additional steps to address the issue,” said a note at the bottom of the Bureau of Labor Statistics report.

If they were deliberately faking numbers, why admit that the numbers were off?

As for Trump, the earliest he might have had any knowledge of the data would have been Thursday evening, after the report was finished, signed off by the Commissioner, and printed. No President has had any influence over BLS, although Nixon tried.

Republicans have routinely claimed obama fudged with the numbers. Why the double standard?

About 5 points higher in April and about 3 points higher in May. The issue is confusion by survey respondents over the difference between “employed but absent from work,” and “on temporary layoff.” This was also an issue during government furloughs.
 
I think an expanded and fair definition of unemployed and underemployed would put the UE rate near 27%.
 
Nobody's lying about 2.5 million jobs being added.

Ok, I’ll bite. What definition are you proposing, what exactly are you trying to measure (what are you trying to learn by measuring unemployment) and how did you reach your estimate?

Isn't that what Trump has been doing in every agency of the Govt.? Replacing life long public servants with incompetent stooges?

It's the truth of course but you can't handle the truth. Biden is going to have get rid of a lot of dead wood and rehire a bunch of competent public servants come 2021. In fact a blanket firing of every single person that Trump hired is in order. Not to mention the impeaching of dozens of incompetent judges by the Democratic Senate. The mess that Trump has made is HUGE.

I guess its way over your head but heres an FYI for you to consider. All presidents install their own administration. This isn't something new.
