Trump has not committed a felony (this time)

Why? Who has been wrongly prosecuted by a GOP prosecutor/administration for political purposes. Take your time.
Who has been wrongly prosecuted by a Democrat prosecutor/administration for political purposes. Take your time.

If Bragg had a valid NY tax fraud case he would be absolutely brain dead to go after a business records crime, felony or misdemeanor.
In January, in a case Bragg prosecuted, Trump Co was given the maximum penalty allowable for tax fraud.

No, you're missing the point. If Bragg had a valid NY tax fraud case he would be absolutely brain dead to go after a business records crime, felony or misdemeanor.

Just think of the political poetry: he would bring down Donald Trump with the same axe that fell Al Capone.
You are missing key wording in the NY state law. Bragg does not have to prove an actual additional crime. He has to prove an additional INTENDED crime.

Yup. Your star witnesses are a convicted felon and a whore. Good luck with that. Didn't say that you weren't warned.

Can you cite the part about "grab them by the *****?" I love how Bragg put that in there since he knows that always gets you guys going.
David Pecker is also a witness....the doorman a witness and two women....not just Cohen...oh and at least 4 attorneys.

The MAGAt smear campaign starts to ramp up. Naturally. When you can't speak to the law or to rhe evidence, you smear, because that's all you have.
I didn't smear him. I just said it was ironic.

Unless, of course, you want to make a case that Bragg hasn't been making an active effort to not prosecute some types of violent acts? My guess is you will not make such a case, you will instead pretend it's been made, that all "normal people" agree with it, and based still more of your gibberish on that unproven assertion.

I dare you to prove me wrong.

I don't consider or call McDougal a whore. A greedy extortionist. But not a whore. Your star witness, Stephanie - whore.
And definitely Trump is a whore

But the misdemeanors need to link to an additional crime to be classified as a felony instead of a misdemeanor or (important language in the law "An intended crime")
why would you use it as that if you could prove Tax Fraud in the first place?

Witrness to what? Trump "falsifying" business records?

Trump, Stone, Flynn, Douglass Mackey.

Manafort probably deserved it.

why would you use it as that if you could prove Tax Fraud in the first place?
The last Manhattan DA said publicly that he lacked evidece to prove Trump had full knowledge of his company's tax fraud.

The charges seem to hinge on the assertion that Trump's falsifying of business records (recording repayment for his lawyer paying the hush money as "legal fees") rises to a felony because it was done to cover up another felony. That other felony allegedly being that the hush money as an illegal campaign contribution. The problem seems to be that the case for the hush money being a campaign contribution really can't be made.
Now that the charges are out:

The illegal campaign contribution is a misdemeanor. Falsifying business records to hide it is a felony. And apparently, he did it a bunch of times. It sounds like the prosecution has written evidence, in addition to Cohen's testimony (and possibly Weisselberg's).

Anyone else would plea bargain it down to misdemeanors and pay a fine. However, Trump clearly intends to fight this in court, which means if he loses, he'll get hit with a stiffer penalty -- but probably nothing too serious. He might just end up with probation.

There is an objective standard for what is a campaign contribution under Federal law and it is not merely a payment or service that helps a candidate's chances. It has to be an expense that both helps the candidate and can reasonably be determined an expense that would never be made but for being a candidate.
Trump paid one hush in 2015 (Karen McDougal), but he refused to pay Daniels for years -- including during the campaign -- until the Access Hollywood tape came out. It's pretty clear he wouldn't have agreed if he wasn't running a campaign.

However, ultimately that's up to the jury to determine, right...?
