I think this depends. Historically speaking, distance does matter. But when faced with an Andrew Johnson, a Nixon, a Carter, and now a Trump, the contemporary issues can present quite clearly.

Bush II stumbled into what needed to happen. It's how his Administration did the deed that hurt us.

The mess throughout the region was always in the cards. Eighteen Muslim nations didn't demonstrate in the streets for socioeconomic justice and democracy in 2010-2012 simply...cuz. And in the meantime, the history proves that Islamist militancy was created under dictators who denied them a political voice. Then look at a banking/housing crisis, a bankrupt American auto industry, and CEO corruption gone amuck.

Trump is taking us down some horrendous paths. Despite holding all 3 Legislative branches, they are getting very little done. The deficit will very soon exceed $1 Trillion, and they are totally unable to balance the budget.

Agree that the deficit needs to be brought under control. Trade has been a problem for 2-3 decades,not sure tariffs are the answer. Pretty sure there is no easy answer though and trade wars are NOT easy to win.

A party with 51 seats in the senate has a majority not control as so many mistakenly say.

The CIA could watch the money trail to see if it ends up in personal accounts. If you use cash, it can distributed to those who ran the scam, in stealth. Each scammer can get a load of cash in their car trunk. People who deal in cash can also avoid the IRS, since the amount of cash is not traceable. The swamp is very concerned about this being known. Not true. Iran may have demanded that the payment be in cash. I would not be surprised if somebody in their government embezzled the money. You have no grounds to say Obama, Kerry, etc laundered the money. Sounds like Rush Limbaugh anger-inciting ALT Right rheroric. Where is your reputable link?
