By the rules of golf where would Trump take the drop since the whiff was on the T box?He missed the shot so picked up his ball and will take a drop per the rules of golf.
He didn't pretend anything.
So many lies and so much hate from the left.
Those are not golf rules. That merely counts as a stroke. You swing again, you don't pick up the ball. Rules aside, we don't know the context of that video. Nor do we know if that video wasn't digitally altered. He missed the shot so picked up his ball and will take a drop per the rules of golf.

Not official rules but courtesy rules.By the rules of golf where would Trump take the drop since the whiff was on the T box?
Hint. The swing counts as a stroke.
Trump must place his next shot from the tbox. Tbox has its own rules and it is not "taking a drop"
Your post is "fake news", Like the video (fake)![]()
TDS also stands for Trump Devoted Sycophant. You defended Donald because there is nothing Donald can do that you will not defend. If the video was of Donald licking at dog poop on the ground, you would be waxing poetically about its nutritional value. If the video was of Donald driving over a child with a golf cart, you’d be angrily arguing about how the child’s liberal parents need to watch their children. If the video was of Donald discussing Ivanka’s naked body, you’d deflect to Joe Biden.
In friendly play one can claim a mulligan and take another swing. Not official rules but courtesy rules.
True. But rules are rules. He isn't in a tournament.
Never heard of that being done. Where to do you play golf where that is done? When you whiff a shot you pick it up and go throw it in the middle of the fairway usually.,,,the point is that you don't hold up the other golfers.
The article said 85% of golfers play by the rules. Naturally, it is a game of self-policing and just how brazen cheaters want to be, but most people understand that cheating is not rewarding because the person doing it knows what they did. The 85% who follow the rules have the self-satisfaction of knowing exactly how they stack up against others and against the course, because really, a player is playing the course designer as much as they are playing against others.Sounds like a typical golf outing to me.
I generally hit at least two balls off the tee.

I suspect you are being sarcastic or do not play golf.
He's been doing that for years.![]()

Someone posted it in here when it first happened. It's hilarious.
The thing is, I think Trump was a pretty good athlete but he's gettin old. Before he started hobbling around he seemed pretty light on his feet for a big guy.
When was this?
It’s not about his skill about golf. It’s about the fact that he cheats and lies about his game shamelessly. Are Trump Victims... that means all you complainers out there, really so desperate to complain about Trump that you have to argue about how good he is at golf? LOL. for ****'s Sake.![]()

More evidence of his lack of integrity.
I've played at Pebble Beach where they have marshalls at every hole. If you miss your shot they will tell you to pick up your ball and move on.The article said 85% of golfers play by the rules. It would be a shallow 'achievement' to go out and cheat and post a good score because anybody who does that knows they didn't really achieve what they are claiming. Instead, they are lying if they tell others about their 'score,' which is not real because they didn't actually shoot what they are claiming. And if they tell themselves they shot a certain score? But they cheated? Then they are lying to themselves. There is a lot of that in the maga cult, and it is no surprise that Dysfunctional Donald cheats and lies at golf as with everything else.

That has nothing to do with following the rules. That is merely big money profit-hungry capitalists who own the famous course that everyone wants to play, ensuring that play moves along as quickly as possible so that as many players as possible can be gotten around the course in a day. The course owners have zero interest in ensuring the rules are followed; and will instead direct players to break the rules if they can't play at top levels, which is a shame, because the game should be about actually playing the game and the course, according to the rules, which for amateurs and non-pro average players, means having some 'blow-up holes' where they take high scores. Ideally, these upcoming players, who are the actual body of the sport, should be allowed to take as many strokes as needed to complete the course so they know exactly where they stand.I've played at Pebble Beach where they have marshalls at every hole. Well, I would like to argue this post, but I cannot. That has nothing to do with following the rules. That is merely big money profit-hungry capitalists who own the famous course that everyone wants to play, ensuring that play moves along as quickly as possible so that as many players as possible can be gotten around the course in a day. If Pebble Beach wants to ensure the fastest play and the greatest number of greens fees paid per day they should require that only players below a certain properly-established handicap are allowed to play. But, oh, they might not be able to find enough players of that caliber to fleece for exorbitant greens fees, so their solution is to increase the greens fees enough to pay for marshals to force people to break the rules, give up on trying to complete each hole, and move along without even properly finishing the round they paid for.
Ironically, if there is a tournament, suddenly the rules must be followed. If a pro gets out there and ends up with a blow-up hole, that player will not be directed to pick up and move along in the interest of expediency and profits. The whole world wants to see a great take an 11 on a hole, so that player will be allowed to take as many strokes as needed to complete the hole.
Rules for thee but not for me. Typical of big money snobbery and pure greed.
Very well. I guess I do see what seems to be the original.
It did seem too perfect to not get more attention. Mystery solved, guess I'm getting old.
In my time on DP it seems one thing is most obvious, so why do Progressives dislike everyone and everything about America? If it's not crazy the progressives don't seem to see any value in it.That has nothing to do with following the rules. I'm shocked this didn't go bigger, as it's too perfect. Maybe I missed it?
If the media hated Trump like he says they do, they'd be playing this all day, every day.
Unfortunately, I only have the clip with commentary, so if anyone has just the clip, that would be wonderful. For now I've queued it to start at the beginning of the clip (~30 seconds in) and if you can hang in 30-40 seconds, you can skip most of the commentary.
If that's unacceptable, in the video Trump whiffs a golf drive shot and then pretends he did hit it, watching to see how far it went while the ball sits on the tee at his feet. The crowd plays along clapping politely, many no doubt faked out...
...and then he leans down, picks up the ball, sticks it in his pocket, and wanders off.
This is a recent event. That's our POTUS cheating at golf, and the crowd getting buffaloed into going along with it.
I find it a perfect metaphor for his entire political "career."
So another verified lie by the left. The hate, the fabrication, the childishness. And to think I got my hand slapped for calling this out. Oh, well. I'll take it and wear it with pride. Sometimes you just have to call out the BS.
I am not a progressive. Was a Republican most of my life till I switched to Independent. In my time on DP it seems one thing is most obvious, so why do Progressives dislike everyone and everything about America? If it's not crazy the progressives don't seem to see any value in it.
