Donald Trump on Thursday set a two-week time frame for assessing peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, as the US president ramps up his efforts to negotiate an end to the war.

"I would say within two weeks we're going to know one way or the other," he said in a telephone interview when asked about the chances of a peace agreement.

Putin is unlikely to agree to ‘(NATO) article 5 like’ security commitments and Zelensky is unlikely to be able to get ‘national referendum’ permission to cede currently unoccupied territory.

It is clear that Putins wants the Ukraine territories and will not agree to Ukraine joining NATO.
And it is clear that Zelinsky will not agree to relinquishing Ukrainian territory seized by Putin and Zelinsky wants security guarantees, like joining NATO or something similar.

So what is Donnie 'assessing"?
Maybe assessing the best way to appease Putin so he gets the Trump Tower in Moscow?

My guess is he'll suspend military aid to Ukraine and/or amplify the sanctions on Russia, depending on which side he thinks has less respect for him.

Donnie's boastful "I will end the war on day 1", followed by his meeting in Anchorage has shown the world that he ain't ready for prime time diplomacy. They don't see the big picture. They don't understand. They don't care. They are driven by rhetoric and hatred; and they certainly don't realize they have fomented completely corrupt government and a dictatorship.
