Trump gets stoned.

He just did....Roger Stones sentence was commuted. Let's hear the left cry now, lol. An old man home with his family in the middle of the night being awakened with SWAT teams and armed whomever....and there is CNN....lol....a real true surprise move, huh.....a total political hitjob to say the least. You people are sick in the head....what will you do when you lose again in November???

Commuted but not pardoned. Big difference. Still a convicted criminal.

We knew it was coming. Trump made it clear that Stone wouldn’t spend a night in prison. Practically, Stone’s pardon means nothing to America. He remains a rightfully convicted felon, reviled and shunned by honest, decent Americans.

Trump’s pardon is just another, in a lifelong series of reprehensible actions committed by an utterly reprehensible person.

Trump’s choice to ignore medical experts, allowing an untold number of Americans to die from the Coronavirus is of much greater importance to me.

Commuting isn't a pardon; Stone remains a convicted criminal. Commuting merely means a reduction of sentence.

That is okay because I doubt any Dem has respect fro you so that would be about even. And Trump has turned the DOJ into the real deep state and it is Trump who is trying to turn the country into a dictatorship with him at the head. Why do you think he keeps hinting he can run for as many terms as he wants. wants to be like his buddy Vlad in Russia.

Lol, gimme a break....another of the thousands of false narratives brought to you from the left. The above is nothing but lies, you have been brainwashed into believing....real sad.

As if we haven't had enough winning trump announces he intends to commute roger stone's sentence. So much winning.

I thought the left loved cancel culture? We just cancelled history we did not agree with. Enjoy!

You do realize Wikileaks is by nature an enemy our intelligence agencies core mission? And as such, they have every reason to discredit them.
If you are unaware that intelligence agencies lie for political objectives, you may need to review some history. And no, I don't think it's to frame or part of some deep conspiracy to hurt Trump, but rather interests of industry itself.

Wikileaks releases leaks. It is not hard to prove this to yourself.

Ok, so you've done your best to negate the intelligence agencies but didn't answer why trump was asking russia for anything. I do love the stories you guys tell yourselves.

Material to what? Being a 'broker' between wikileaks and the president isnt a crime

If you guys didn't lie to yourselves and to each other so much you would know what a lie is and who is telling them like stone and flynn. Stone was found guilty by a jury of all seven criminal indictments but our president knows so much better than the lawyers or jurors, right?

I thought the left loved cancel culture? We just cancelled history we did not agree with. Enjoy!

You only thought that because you folks on the right keep repeating it to each other. We on the left don't want to cancel our past, we want it acknowledged for what it is, racist and who or why would anyone want to honor a bunch of racists?

Lol...he admits to fighting history. Only uneducated people fight history. The rest of us were taught to learn from it. Case in point...lefties had statues of abolitionists taken down. It doesn't get more uneducated than that. In fact, that is Darwin dumb.

History is what they teach in school. Stuff like paul revere's ride, all bullcrap not accurate at all and columbus discovering america. How you 'discover' a land where folks already live is beyond me. Southern history tries to make confederate generals honorable when they were traitors to america trying to defend owning other people. If that is the kind of history you choose to believe and honor, so be it.

And didn't rat out Trump by telling the FBI that he told Benedict Donald all about it, which it beggars the imagination to think he didn't. And he just got rewarded for that from trump.

Trump wasn't accused of wanting to find out what Wikileaks had on Clinton.
He was accused of conspiring with Russia.
You guys have already forgotten your own arguments.

He lied, he obstructed justice AND he witness tampered AND he was repeatedly warned by the judge about his continuing banned communications. GUILTY and yet commutation? Nah perfectly onthe up and up.

Stone matters only because he was supposedly a wheel in the Trump/Russia conspiracy.
He wasn't. There was no conspiracy.
That is all that matters.

Meanwhile despite having his own Justice Department, none of the long laundry list of criminals operating within the american justice and intelligence communities that illegally spied on Trump and his campaign, haven't been brought to justice? He's literally got hundreds of prosecutors and investigators at his beck and call? He can have any partisan hack he wants to head up the investigations he wants. He just had that done in EDNY, but that was to fix some other major investigations into his "associates".

I am not sure what "EDNY" is. I am guessing Flynn.
And yes, Flynn was supposedly another wheel in that conspiracy.
And the evidence continues to show he was not. It also continues to show there was no evidence to suggest he was.
Durham is in the process of investigating why, given the lack of evidence, the Obama Admin thought the Trump campaign was conspiring with Russia in 2016.

He has corrupted the Department of Justice and Bill Barr is his willing bootlicker. The standards of the republican party have fallen to cesspool level.

I fail to see how showing the lack of basis in conducting a criminal investigation and prosecution is "corrupting" anything.

You only thought that because you folks on the right keep repeating it to each other. We on the left don't want to cancel our past, we want it acknowledged for what it is, racist and who or why would anyone want to honor a bunch of racists?

The past is a different place. People live differently there.

He lied several times about his actions as a go between both to congress and to the FBI and he tampered with a witness, the later being really not a good thing to do in a jury system like ours. Was the Feds just to turn their heads and say we did not see anything because he was a pal of the president? You do realize that once the election is over Trump will then pardon Stone so it is as though a jury of his peers did not find him guilty on seven counts. I find it interesting that you probably think that going after Hillary Clinton again, after what, ten years of investigations have come up empty iis fine, but letting the real guilty go free is fine. The idea of trying people for lying to the FBI and Congress is to keep people from doing so in the future. Now everyone knows that all you have to do is lie for the president, whoever that might be in the future, and he can commute your sentence of even pardon you. GREAT

You have forgotten your own argument.
Stone was investigated and charged as a piece in the larger "Trump conspired with Russia' narrative. It was Trump, not Stone, who was the big prize. Stone was simply a means to an end.
Nobody defends Stone for the sake of defending Stone. Stone is defended because his prosecution shows the utter lack of merit in thinking there was a conspiracy.

So you are upset at the Dems when it was the DOJ under Trump that took Stone to trial and had him convicted. And if Stone can lie to congress and the FBI, then everyone can and will in the future.

Stone was charged and convicted by the Trump Admin., yes.
Whats the issue here?

Oh, ok. You’re not mistaken about Mueller’s report, you’re lying about Stone case prosecutors.

Prosecutors did not “show there was no conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia”.

The indictment by Mueller of Stone and his subsequent prosecution argued this:
That the Trump campaign reached out to Stone to see if he could find out from wikileaks if there would be any future releases. And that Stone lied about this.

What this means is that Mueller is arguing that the Trump campaign had NO means to coordinate with either wikileaks or Russia. That's why they needed Stone.
It should be apparent then that if the Trump campaign had been conspiring with Russia, they would have already had lines of communication established and would have known what was going to be released. There would have been no reason to reach out to Stone for anything.

In his report, Mueller wasn't able to conclude that Trump conspired because of obstruction or perjury or whatnot.
He wasn't able to conclude a conspiracy because the conspiracy never happened.

This is So obviously false that it’S downright ridiculous!

It is very well documented that the Trump campaign was in more, or less, regular communication with Russian intelligence during and after the campaign.

It is also a matter of record that the Trump campaign knew that the Russians were behind the DNC hack.

It is also a matter of record that Trump’s campaign manager, Paul Manafort, was offering to brief Oleg Deripashka (Putin’s man, and the Russian who is paying Mitch McConnell off for keeping the Senate in line after Trump cancelled sanctions on his company)..

I had no idea what was going on that Saturday before the Democratic convention, when the first leak surfaced. But I knew something unusual was going on.

So did people in intelligence agencies all over the world who had been watching Teump and Stone’s bag men running around. Which is how the FBI came to become aware of George Papadopolous.

About that time, Trump and Stone appeared to have a falling out. This was almost certainly staged. This is about plausible deniability.

Stone ran the whole thing. And it was necessary for him to be outside of the official campaign. He could talk to the Russians all day long, and not be acting as a “member of the campaign”. So, no conspiracy! Collusion isn’t a crime.

And, as long as Mitch McConnell could hold the votes in the Senate, nothing would be done about it.

I have little doubt that Stone has instructed Trump on both the timing and the manner of his release. Trump just isn’t that smart.

My god....is anyone else reading this?^ Hes angry at factual history of out nation. He even thinks there is a southern version. Do you really not grasp what history means? Oh wait of course you don't. You guys are tearing down statues of abolitionists. Its hilarious watching you all pre-lose the election.

Its accurate.

No, it wasn't. Nothing was alleged, no charges filed.

It is also a matter of record that the Trump campaign knew that the Russians were behind the DNC hack.

The argument is that the Trump campaign conspired with Russia in those efforts.

It is also a matter of record that Trump’s campaign manager, Paul Manafort, was offering to brief Oleg Deripashka (Putin’s man, and the Russian who is paying Mitch McConnell off for keeping the Senate in line after Trump cancelled sanctions on his company)..

Manafort used his position as chairman for his own personal advantage.
And he was fired.

I had no idea what was going on that Saturday before the Democratic convention, when the first leak surfaced. But I knew something unusual was going on.
OK.

So did people in intelligence agencies all over the world who had been watching Teump and Stone’s bag men running around. Which is how the FBI came to become aware of George Papadopolous.

And neither Stone or PapaD were ever charged for their role in a conspiracy with Russia.

About that time, Trump and Stone appeared to have a falling out. This was almost certainly staged. This is about plausible deniability.

So now we are into conspiracy theories to help explain a conspiracy theory.
This doesn't help.

Stone ran the whole thing. And it was necessary for him to be outside of the official campaign. He could talk to the Russians all day long, and not be acting as a “member of the campaign”. So, no conspiracy! Collusion isn’t a crime.

Except that he didn't talk to the Russians all day. He wasn't even charged with being in a conspiracy with Wikileaks. As Mueller pointed out in his indictment, Stone didn't have contacts with Wikileaks. Which is why Stone reached out to Credico (who knew Assange).

Kind of tough to say the Trump campaign conspired with Russia when the guy supposedly doing the conspiring had no way of reaching to the other conspirators.
Its really no more complicated than that.

And, as long as Mitch McConnell could hold the votes in the Senate, nothing would be done about it.

There was nothing to be done about it.
There was no conspiracy.

Thanks, but I already know that and noted it in my post (“He remains a rightfully convicted felon”). My mistake was only in saying Stone was pardoned rather than his sentence being commuted.

You are making unsupported assumptions based on your own bias. At no time did Stone prosecutors say that there was no conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Taken from Mueller’s report; “while the investigation identified numerous links between individuals with ties to the Russian government and individuals associated with the Trump Campaign, the evidence was not sufficient to support criminal charges.”

As Mueller said in the indictment of Stone, he had lied about the Trump campaign reaching out to him to to reach out to Wikileaks about any future releases.
Why would the Trump campaign need to reach out to Stone for information about the DNC files, if they already had lines of communication with either Russia or Wikileaks?
There is no reason. It makes no sense. Its like asking a friend who knows the owner of a restaurant if he could reach out to that owner to get you reservations, when you already have reservations.

Yep-- and he didn't have the evidenced because it didn't happen.
If Mueller had investigated Trump for shooting somebody on 5th Ave, he would have had the same conclusion. And that is because it didn't happen.

Really pathetic of you to continue pushing a lie after being directly confronted and proven wrong.

The language in Mueller’s report was clear. “while the investigation identified numerous links between individuals with ties to the Russian government and individuals associated with the Trump Campaign, the evidence was not sufficient to support criminal charges.”
