This got out of the starting blocks way too late……Excellent.
The question now becomes, "Will they get off a criminal referral by then?". Otherwise, this all comes to an end in a few weeks.

I am not sure this was a wise move, tbh.
It may end up making the DOJ seem political.
I think they had to. I would like to think, that with Trump already requesting the Supreme Court to over turn the Mar a lago lawsuit, they will NOT look kindly on someone who ignores a subpeona.I am not sure this was a wise move, tbh.

So why does anyone ever testify?Narturally, Trump can refuse to honor the subpoena, and I expect he will refuse.
The Jan 6 House investigation committee cannot physically force him to testify.
This is nothing more than a political stunt.
Political self-preservation.So why does anyone ever testify?
To show their innocence? So why does anyone ever testify?
Good, the DOJ is supposed to be political.I am not sure this was a wise move, tbh.

Legal compulsion to appear if they don't feel like going through the courts to fight it, or out of respect for our democratic institutions. So why does anyone ever testify?
It doesn't end in a few weeks. It could end on Jan 3 if the R's take the House.Excellent.

just ask Barr, LOL!Good, the DOJ is supposed to be political.
Barr thinks Trump is a crook.just ask Barr, LOL!
and he was right, wasn't he!!!!Barr thinks Trump is a crook.
So your contention is that this and any similar committee is useless?Political self-preservation.
I never said (or implied) that. The Committe has done its diligence. (As of today) They found no evidence linking Trump to the violence which occurred on January 6th.So your contention is that this and any similar committee is useless?
I never said or implied that.Despite constitutional responsibility you would render the congressional committee impotent?
Yeah, and the vote certainly was theatrical. BUT, it was called for since the committee finally concluded that Trump was in the middle of ALL this, and in effect, he DID cause the violence that set upon the Capitol for the purpose of interrupting the (no longer peaceful) transfer of power. Their subpoena was issued in good faith, but I seriously doubt they'll get a good faith response from Trump. Can't say they didn't give Trump a chance to testify in his defense....The fact that they waited so long makes it appear as a political stunt.
I'm hoping you are saying that in jest, because that's a disgustingly bad contention to make.Good, the DOJ is supposed to be political.
