Good stuff. Blunt, will infuriate TACO if he watches it. Straightforward, no hype, no drama.
About 8 minutes in he discusses the truth that we are in a one-person rule political system now and TACO is ruling by emergency decree. That if you go into WA.gov or whatever the official WH website is and enter executive orders, every one of them starts with him declaring an emergency.

Jeffrey Sachs is brilliant. Trump is a disaster in the making.
Sachs says so much more politely than that, but the says it all the same.
This is well worth watching if you want to understand how we got where we are.
I watched the entire thing, and is is heartening to be reminded that we do have very intelligent people in the world.
The discussion includes a clear, concise and very detailed explanation of global trade, international finance,
and why Trump’s economic ideas of tariffs as policy are an absolute disaster.
The world LOST $10 trillion dollars in market capitalization in two days because Trump does not understand trade. That value was DESTROYED.
Everyone LOSES in that scenario.
It made no sense at all.
The ripple effects of this mistake are ongoing, and will continue to disrupt global supply chains and investment.
In a trade war between the US and China, China wins. No question.
The US Market is about 12% of China’s overall market. They will be fine.
Very interesting and intelligent discussion.
Sadly, we have unintelligent and simplistic people in the White House and in Congress.
This is not normal.
We are a rogue nation under trump.

I agreed with 98% of what Sachs said, except when he said that the country has a big credit card. It instead has an ability to create and spend its own currency, but to his credit, he didn't seem too concerned with the national debt.
trump has purged the Republican party of anybody strong enough to stand up and tell him his policies, especially his tariffs, are stupid. I don't see his cabinet or Congress putting an end to tariffs anytime soon, so I think we are stuck with Delicate Donny not wanting to back away and admit that he was wrong all along.

That Trump doesn't possess even a basic understanding of international trade.
As long as we run a fiscal deficit, we'll necessarily have a trade deficit. That's what Sachs means when he says, "We call that an identity. I teach it on the second day of my course..."
