Trump desperately needs to be prosecuted for sedition

What's your term for inciting others to try and overthrow our government?
And @maxparrish has it quite right in his post #1,007 calling this 'commission' little more than 'informationally worthless stagecraft'.
In other words, nothing new here. You confirmed what I have have already noted, that the "testimony" was informationally worthless stagecraft, a bit of theater for scoring political points. Your meaningless gushing of anguish and vacuous accusations like "the GOP needs a scapegoat" and "learning the GOP are looking more guilty every day" is little more than unsupported character assassination NOT INFORMATION AS TO HOW AND WHY THIS HAPPENED.

It's an old ploy, one that is used by every unethical prosecution in the country (e.g. using a nine year old to tear up on the stand in the George Floyd trial).

Even if you hate Republicans, you shouldn't be THAT gullible.
The pattern is well established by Pelosi and the rest of her Democrats in the preceding impeachment #1 and impeachment #2. Vacuous, fact less stagecraft for political advantage.

It is little more than BS for political advantage, as there have already been multiple House and a Senate investigation into the matter. As cited elsewhere in the forums:

If I can spot it and figure it out on my own, I'm not going to be the only one.

conduct or speech inciting people to rebel against the authority of a state or monarch.

His shockingly corrupt request to Rosen to "just call the election corrupt and I'll do the rest" is the very definition of this crime.

And there are first hand witnesses that this is exactly what he said.
If this miserable sack of shit can't be criminally prosecuted for this outrage then I think every criminal now in jail should be released under the 'equal protection' clause.
You know Trump is not president anymore? One thread after another bitching about president Trump who is not
in office now. All of your silly dreams are just that silly dreams. Trump is not going to jail. Period!

I further disagree with the exaggerated hyperbole applied to the events of that day in 'try and overthrow our government'. There is no such evidence to support such a charge, nor for sedition nor for insurrection. It was a riot, and as such charges for disruption of congress and obstruction of congress are in evidence.
The thread isn't even about January 6, which was merely the culmination of Trump's months-long effort to overturn the election. Trump's cajoling of state and federal officials to help him overthrow the government is well-documented, his mob of insurrectionists sacking Congress on the day of certification was the final hail mary.

yawn...

Is your nonsense rant over? Good.

Thread dismissed.

Going on 5 years since he won the election and these people are still butt hurt over it.

TDS appears to be a lifetime affliction.

I think that nothing will be done about it, but it's disgusting.

And he aided and abetted it by gleefully watching the violence on TV and quite consciously not immediately calling in the national guard.
Dispicable shit should be prosecuted for officer Sicknick's murder.

It clearly shows intent. This is the type of thing that prosecutors live for. Now lets see what they do with it. They have the receipts.

They know what's coming.
And what, exactly, "is coming?" The elevation of Simpleton to emperor?

You'd welcome that, wouldn't you?

Look, if Jefferson Davis wasn't prosecuted for sedition, then... no, you're right. trump needs to be. Davis never stormed the US capitol and tried to overthrow democracy and seize the presidency, he tried to leave. I'll agree to not prosecute trump for leaving if he leaves. You know he wants the same treatment as these guys:

Wont happen bud. Dont see us as Americans locking a former president up.

It just doesnt look good for our country.
In the contrary. It would make the US look strong. Letting him get away with it makes us look like any other third world country run under dictatorship. I personally don't care if he's locked up or not.. Criminal prosecution, conviction, wearing an ankle bracelet and prohibited from travel will work for me. And don't leave out the many fines he and his family will pay.

This is how we begin to heal the divisions in our country. When Trump supporters realize how wrong they were about Trump, perhaps things will change.

They know what's coming.
It's amazing how much hate a really bad person can generate in people. 75 years later we're still talking and teaching about Hitler's transgressions. It's only been 4 years for Trump. Buckle up my friend, the fun is just beginning.

Why are you back here? You dismissed this thread back at the beginning.
Doesn't mean I won't read the thread.

Does it bother you that I responded to a member's comment?

Its not like anyone stormed the capitol wanting to kill congress and senate though...right?

You don't think that request virtually defines the definition of sedition? You ok with criminal activity that goes unpunished?

Speaking of "yawn," your response is not only sadly predictable, it reveals a complete contempt for rule of law or American values.
FYI @Mycroft is an election truther who thinks Trump actually won and perhaps will be reinstated. All incoming information will be processed through this lens, so opportunity to debate thoughtfully with him is unlikely. At best, you’ll get ‘dismissed.’

Well said-----but Trumpers will dismiss this as nothing...........
