They found the rifle on the 6th Floor. Witnesses actually placed Oswald on the 6th floor during the lunch. He was the only TSB employee who didn't stick around after the assassination. At no point did anyone in the building identify any strangers in the building.

But okay... let's suspend disbelief for a moment and assume Oswald was actually a patsy and this was all a set-up. It was all staged.

How did the mysterious people who staged it know the exact spot the President was going to be fatally shot? Because from where it happened, the corner of the TSB was the best spot in all of Dealey Plaza to make that shot without being out in the open. From that perch, the limo would have been moving in almost exactly (within 001.5°) a straight line away from the shooter. That doesn't happen anywhere else except out in the open on the Highway Overpass. Just in that spot marked "X" on Dealey Plaza. The curving nature of the road means that doesn't happen even a few feet away from that spot.

Why is that important? Well, if you're shooting a high-powered rifle at a moving target, you need to lead that target. You need to compensate for elevation (up/down) and you need to compensate for deflection (left/right). By having the target move directly away from you, it makes the shot a lot easier.. you don't need to compensate for deflection anymore. Grassy Knoll shooter, for instance, would have experienced a lot of deflection. He would have had a much harder shot with a rifle, even though he was closer to the target. In point of fact, the Grassy Knoll only makes sense if the shooter(s) intended to hose down the limo with automatic weapon fire, Petit-Clamart style.
