Trump declares that he will decide what America First means.

America First was to Trump always: "Whatever Trump wants today".

Very “Socialism with Chinese characteristics” vibes.
State directed Capitalism, like in the PRC might actually be something Trump would like. As long as he is the State.

China isn’t socialist. It’s about the most cutthroat capitalist nation on earth.

It's still a mixed economy. They still have your beloved five year plans, and the state still owns all of the land. That's not capitalism.

Trump isn’t America First. Trump is Trump First.

That I agree with.

How exactly are any forms of central planning “beloved” by me, an anarchist?

If the land and economy were privately owned by a single person, you would defend to the death their “right” to centrally plan.

PRC still have five-year-plans, but those plans aren't specific production goals anymore, just vague "let's make profit" statements. Basically they have become more and more just a budget.

Ok, but they still have way too much state ownership to be considered "the most cutthroat capitalist nation on earth" which was Questerr's claim:

Furthermore:

Xi explained his view of a mixed economy with the idea of “two hands”: the “visible hand” of the state and the “invisible hand” of the market. He insisted that the two complemented each other.

That is not something a capitalist like myself wants to hear.

His phrase that the statement that ‘America First’ wasn’t used until he came along by Trump tells us all we need to know about his grasp of history… or reality. No Donald, you didn’t develop it.

Very little is original with Trump, save for his constant chaos and contradictions. MAGA dates at least back to Reagan, his complaints about foreign manufacturing eroding America is very late 70s and 80s (directed at Japan), mercantilism is so old that most don't know much about it.

I understand he had a disagreeable interview with Tucker Carlson over his abandonment of America First by helping Israel, which illustrates his own poor grasp of its meaning EXCEPT as a code word for "what I want, I want".
