trump calld out on flag lowering inconsistency

Take it up with Waltz. Why didn't he call in the NG...err... I mean, ask for the flag to be lowered?

You folks just don’t get it. Charlie Kirk was an internationally recognized, highly influential, political figure. Nobody outside Minnesota even knew the Hortmans existed and they were members of a third party few had ever heard of.

Nobody outside the cult takes Trump seriously. He can 'order' anything he wants. Most flags were not lowered.

The right does not respect the American flag. As far as the American right is concerned, the US Flag Code does not exist. The right has a very weird relationship with the flag. Trump fondles it and hugs it on stage. (A violation of US Flag Code.) Pick up trucks with Trump stickers and fake gonads hanging from the trailer hitch have tattered and trashed US Flags draped all over their dirty tailgates (A violation of US Flag Code.) They put Trump's face and name on US Flags (A violation of US Flag Code.) They wear the American flag as apparel. (A violation of US Flag Code.) They have their flags up at night with no light on them (A violation of US Flag Code.) They use them as tablecloths at picnics (A violation of US Flag Code.) They paint US Flags on their skin (A violation of US Flag Code.) They fly cheap plastic flags from their car windows (A violation of US Flag Code.)

The American right totally confuses actual patriotism with gaudy flag displays. They are not capable of understanding the difference.

Christian nationalism will kill our country. We have to crush that. Christian nationalism is wrong and dangerous for America. We are not a Christian country.

We are, and must remain, a non-denominational country. Americans are and should be free to practice any religion they want, or none at all, but should not attempt in any way to force their religion upon others nor the government.

The Christian right needs to get it's head out of other people's butts. Believe whatever you want. That is your right. Keep it to yourself. You have no right to force your religion on others nor into American public schools.

Are you so insecure that your religion will not endure that you have to force it on other people's kids?

That says something about your religion. And it's not pretty.

Right on cue.

Gotcha, so we only lower flags for important people on the right?
No one knew who the Capitol police officer killed during Jan 6th was outside of DC and Biden lowered flags.

No only in the misguided idiot world of MAGA was he important. He will be forgotten within 6 months.

The flag should not have been lowered and MOST CERTAINTY should not have been lowered now

Trump has made this sad slaughter, very effectively, into a political tool.

He was a political hack, not a political leader.

Did the Utah governor call Trump and ask him to lower the flags for Kirk?

I seriously do not know. Does anyone have any information about that?

The US Flag is the symbol of our country. The right tries to claim it as their own. They are wrong. Our flag is regularly disrespected.

Real Americans should have a problem with buying a Japanese car from a dealer who has 47 American flags or a ridiculously oversized flag. Those displays are not patriotism. They are shamefully exploiting the flag to sell cars.

You do not get it, Kirk was a right wing nothing. He never did anything for anyone and was a racist to boot. Those people killed in Minnesota represented real people and were killed for it and nobody at the White House or from the right did or said anything.

Was he asked to lower the flag for Charlie Kirk? It seems he made that decision on his own, "as a mark of respect for the memory of Charlie Kirk". It doesn't seem like he felt that Melissa Hortman and her husband were worthy of the same respect.

Charlie Kirk was an internationally recognized, highly influential, political figure.

And a loudmouth with the brains like a bucket of mashed potatoes.

Nobody outside Minnesota even knew the Hortmans existed and they were members of a third party few had ever heard of.

What this post means: "She was an obscure politician, so she doesn't matter"

You’re entitled to your opinion.

Correct. And you’re not going to convince me the left has suddenly reached the conclusion that Minnesota and anyone in it matters.
