Trump announces 100% tariffs on movies ‘produced in foreign lands’ (2 Viewers)

It sounds like a Stephan Miller move, absolutely.

To add to my insult, I just got locked-out of an Alibaba purchase because the new tariffs literally tripled the price of an item I wanted to replenish in my stock.

The order literally shows an item price that is 50% higher than the previous day, then during check-out the system adds on a "fee" that's almost twice the price of the now higher priced item!

This whole thing is getting beyond ridiculous . . .

So I searched through your postings for: Bush, Guantanamo, rendition....and found... nothing, so I have to ask, how bad does it have to get before you denounce Donny in general? Would it have to be extermination camps....that you won't know about until after he dies....that you will excuse later?

He seems unable to grasp that some people don't agree with everything he says and thinks anyone that does must be eliminated.

This is another of those insanities where the rest of the world should just do 'reciprocal tariffs' on US movies. The US makes up around 4% of the global population. Maybe 30% (guess) of the global movie watching population. So if the rest of the world reciprocated in the way that Trump himself calls fair, it's America that will very badly lose out. If you have to choose whether to make movies in America to access 30% of movie watchers, or make them outside the US to access 70% of movie watchers, which will you do??

A lot of Trumps tariff ideas are stupid, but this may just be the worst thought through yet. There are plenty of places already well established outside the US for making movies, with experienced crews, sets, and everything else needed. Not like you have to move a factory or anything like that. Just fly the actors to the new location and get started. Mean time, Americans get to pay twice as much to watch movies like Avatar, which many people would just pay, while filling Trumps piggy bank. Plenty of movies 'made in the US' also get parts made outside the US using the best possible international locations and CGI talent etc, I wonder how that gets factored in to Trumps tariffs?

Well, not sure you can be in MAGA if you don’t hate drag queens, but the you are aware that trump wears makeup all day every day, right? That he got a doctor to say he had bone spurs to avoid the draft? That he cheated on his wife while she was recovering from giving birth to his child with a porn star?

Why would you guys want films from other countries anyway?
You can just be happy with superhero films and maybe a film about Vietnam or something.
