As for me saying:’

Once again I have seen several American citizens hoping for our Country to fail”. I didn’t say it was necessarily on this forum in that particular reply, just that I had seen it. We weren't, but Trump has (probably) handed Putin a much bigger strategic victory than Putin would have gotten under Biden/Harris. Ukraine was (probably) always going to lose the war. The question(s) to be answered were when, how badly, what could still be salvaged? What Trump is doing, however, is basically throwing Europe and our trans-Atlantic partnership in the garbage bin. From Putin's point of view, that's Christmas come early.

I'm seeing a lot of snickering on the MAGA right at Europe's humiliation, but I don't see how this doesn't come back to bit the US in the ass at some point. The US has used Europe to project its power on another continent, and as a staging ground to project influence on other continents. The collapse of Europe as we've known it is a strategic defeat for the United States. Putin didn't ask for that. Trump gave it to him.

Speaking for myself. I sincerely hope Trump fails. What he is doing is not what America stands for. It is not the values I was taught as a child, nor believed in as an adult. I certainly did not join the Army to defend his racist sexist nonsense. I would never steal from the poor to give the Rich more money. I won't pretend that is good for my Nation, or its people.

Of course, the RW said the same thing about Biden. They had bumper stickers about Let's Go Brandon. FJB, and of course the Three Percent nonsense and how it was a duty to Resist Biden. You know, for America. Or something.

I hope his Trade War nonsense fails. I hope that our "friends" will still be speaking to us when this disaster of an administration is over. I suspect many of them won't. We have gone from something to be proud of, to something to be ashamed of. I hope that trend fails. America was a beacon on the hill. An example of what freedom and tolerance can achieve. When other nations had Race problems Americans showed we could live in peace and harmony. Oh we had a few hiccups, but we were always Americans. Now anyone who opposes Trump's Authoritarian plans is labeled a traitor. Label me. Make a note of me. Chart it and put me on your list. I'm proud to be there. I did nine years in the Army, and I'll be honored to be on a list that shows I still believe in the America we once were.

So make a note of me. Put me on your List. I'll keep attending protests. I'll keep my face clear so they know I'm there. I'm not afraid of them, or you, or anyone. If I am going to be afraid of anyone, it won't be a bunch of spineless wimps.

“Whine”. I gave proof of one ( the one I actually referenced) And he was man enough to come forward and even admit he did indeed say that he wanted Trump to fail. As for the rest…I clearly said in a different post that “I have seen several American citizens hoping for our Country to fail”. I didn’t say it was necessarily on this forum. Although I am fairly confident if you are all that interested you could research and find that there are others whom have said much the same thing.
I will say I am enjoying our little conversation, hopefully you are as well. Hang in there ;)

If Trump convinces Russia to get back into their own Country, I'll cheer Trump. Since that is extremely unlikely, there seems little chance that Trump will get cheers. Ending the war is a goal. Doing the right thing is a harder goal to achieve.

While I am not averse to this, I do wonder if it would make the Russians speculate what was considered acceptable losses in a nuclear exchange.

I've said it before. I would have sent the Military in to push Russia out of Ukraine and not stopped until I was 100 kilometers inside Russia, declaring all of the new territory to be part of Ukraine.
