"Donald Trump’s campaign filed a lawsuit against the Clark County registrar, accusing him of intentionally coordinating with Democratic activists “in order to skew the vote unlawfully in favor of Democratic candidates.”"

Link to CBS News article here.

What's his case, you might ask? Well, apparently by staying open to accommodate people already in line...

"On Saturday, Nevada GOP chairman Michael McDonald complained at a Trump rally that Clark County had “kept a poll open ‘til 10 o’clock at night so a certain group could vote.” A Clark County spokesman said Fridaythat people who were still in line when the polls closed at 7 p.m. would be able to vote."

Thoughts ? Is Trump a victim of *gasp* being subjected to an election ?

A desperate move by a desperate man and campaign.

Yeah Trump and the GOP are all about eliminating polling stations and then complaining when the ones remain are overcrowded and people are /gasp allowed to vote when they are in line.

Those have been the rules in all precincts I've ever voted in: If you're in line at closing time, you get to vote. That's because citizens have a right to vote.

Otherwise, all Republicans would have to do is close some polling places, which would mean some of those people can't vote, and then the other now-overburdened polling places wouldn't be allowed to stay open, assuring that almost none of the citizens whose polling places closed would be able to vote. Neat trick.

Trump is a jack__s. He's filed over 3,500 lawsuits and is one of the most litigious people ever. He's a walking advertisement for tort reform...not for personal injury, though. For business/political litigation.

Pretty simple. If what the locals in Clark County did is legal, then the courts will allow it and nothing will change. If what the locals in Clark County is not legal, then Trump has a point, and the courts will correct the issue.

Like I said, pretty simple. No one's votes will be thrown out that were cast legally.

We don't know. But small aberrations will happen here and there.

This is if nothing else an insight into what we can expect from the Trump campaign throughout the day and afterward.

Not only that, but the attorney he hired to file the suit is a.....wait for it......

construction and commercial insurance attorney. I mean this just speaks volumes about the seriousness of his campaign.

:doh All that means is the guy had standing to file the suit. Doesn't mean he'd be the one to litigate it if it was heard.

It's too bad the expert you're alluding to didn't stop them from humiliating themselves by filing such a ridiculous lawsuit.

It's no big deal. I'm not worked up about it. If nothing out of the ordinary happened, there shouldn't be a suit. I see no humiliation. Naturally, you do. I'm not surprised.

It's an attempt to take money from areas that are not favoring Trump, as well as to disrupt the process. Clearly, his lawyer knows if it was legal before the lawsuit was filed. It's simple, as you say. If it IS that simple, then that wasn't the purpose of the lawsuit.

That's why it's important. It's a Trump pattern. When he doesn't get his way, he uses his money to intimidate others to try to get his way that way.

And what a coincidence that trump sued a county with Nevada's larger minority population resides to have votes thrown out. What a shocking surprise.

What? Take money? From my understanding, the locals in that county decided to extend the time the polls would be open, which is against state law. What that has to do with taking money or anything else you said is beyond me. Maybe I'm totally off the reservation on this one. If I am, please feel free to explain what exactly you were talking about and how I am wrong. Anything's possible, and I've been wrong before... so...

Those locations did not extend closing times. They closed at the right time, but processed those citizens who had gotten there before closing time. Whenever this happened to me, they crowded everyone in and locked the doors, if they'd fit (and they did).

If it's not legal, the Sec of State will handle it. All of this stuff is normal administrative stuff that's been done and handled for many many years.

There's no reason to file a lawsuit. So the motive must be something else.

The Judge has now tossed out the lawsuit, in essence fussing at the lawyer, telling him the clerk or Sec of State are very busy today and have other things to do than read hundreds of pages of litigation, which they've had to do.

She further said that this is admiistrative and that she can't order someone to do something they're already obligated to do under law.

They should've just sent a request to the Sec of State. Instead, they were READY with a 100 page lawsuit filing, and didn't know Nevada law.

That's not correct. It's not that they are allowing people that are in line at closing time to vote, it's that they have extended the time that you can get into the line, which is against state law. That's the way I understand it.

That's not what the county rep says. In any case, this is within the Sec of State's province. You don't file a lawsuit for stuff like this. Any idiot would know that. Personally, I think the purpose was to put a cloud over the results, to put a kink in the process, and to go after the individuals who work at those polling locations.
