Trump’s “Christian” supporters do not follow a central message of Jesus (4 Viewers)

And Jesus wasn't talking about governmental entities anyway; the "you" to whom He refers is the individual and that one individual's decision to give alms, clothe the poor, visit the sick, etc.
but he was talking about loving our neighbors, wasn't He? Now the government is hating on that.

lol...good one...
People always seem to have this idea that Christ shares their ideology.

As taken from the New Testament, Christ had his own ideology and expects his followers to share it. Not the other way around. If you are a Christian, an actual one, you can't be trying to finesse what he said. What he said was very plain and straightforward. Either you can cleave to it or you cannot. Most cannot.

I'm not an atheist, but I am not really much of a Christian. MML&J and Acts I & II had all kinds of interesting things to say and really, really good principles.

It would probably benefit Christians to spend more time on MML&J and a little less time deciding what Jesus really meant.

Yes, we knew that you fine Trump cukt Christians would find ways to “justify” the pure hatefulness involved in the programs of Trump and Stephen Miller and Mike Johnson and the Congressional Republicans to deprive “the least of these” of government assistance so that Trump can give himself and his wealthy elite sponsors her another huge and unneeded tax cut. This is what we expected all along. Jesus weeps.

What I said has nothing to do with Trump.

It had to do with your wrong use of Scripture, and you who don't believe a word of it anyway but then posture yourself as some expositor of Scripture. Oxymoron.

And, again, you have yet to show that anything that I said in the OP is incorrect. Why are you avoiding doing so?

I sure did. See again post #(12).

Lees, i am fine with watsup trying to exposit scripture the best way he can.

our Motive here should be to encourage ALL on this forum to look at what God says and follow it. i don't care if watsup doesn't believe, at least he understands some rudiments of what God expects from him and us.

this latest from watsup is AMAZING; give an Atheist a bible and let him preach. pretty soooon he will believe and know God.

i think God is working inside of him to be able to write something like this, so thank you watsup, keep preaching whether you believe or not.

in the End, all these atheists and christians should come to the Historic faith as God intended.

how?

the way is narrow the Leads to Eternal Life and few find it Jesus said. just because you are a christian doesn't mean you will see heaven, many are fooled by some declaration of godliness but inside we have fallen away from the faith.

so..........all of us NEEED to find the faith on a daily basis. all means all. and i hope to see you Lee and watsup on streets of Gold with a great sigh of relief and joy.

promise me that. .........k ?

(Acts 16:16-18) Christians don't need the approval or disapproval of non-believers.

(Matt. 4:6) Satan knows the Scripture also, and will quote it to you all day long if you listen.

I disagree with your statement that 'just because you are a christian doesn't mean you will see heaven'.

16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:

17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.
(Matt. 4:6) Satan knows the Scripture also, and will quote it to you all day long if you listen.
6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Agreed...and looking in the mirror, asking, "How can I apply what he said in my life?" before throwing his teachings on someone else...

Show us where Jesus said that. What I remember Jesus saying was render unto Caesar what is Caesar's.
Back to treating everyone else as you want to be treated - and to taking care of those in need: What objections do you have against these sentiments?
I have no objection to helping those who genuinely need it.
But note 2 Thessalonians 3:10: "We also gave you this rule: If you don't work, you don't eat".
Plus there are many passages in the Old Testament against laziness. The Bible does not advocate for slacking.

true Hamish.

many christians are raised in certain kinds of denominational ideologies that are not what Jesus taught, but they don't question and can't discern what the leadership is saying is far from the Truth.

Jesus taught holiness and the narrow way, many churches do not.

that is why i rant about a Great Book written by an ex baptist minister and bible college teacher who examined the issues in a long Seminary level book. when i read it, the book moved me to recalibrate my faith to what Jesus wants....

Life in the Son 2.jpg...this is the Original book and the revised one is even better.

Here it is:

Matthew 25:40-45

New International Version

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of THE LEAST OF THESE, you did not do for me.’

Jesus fed the masses when they ran out of food. Trump is shutting down programs that help to feed those on the lower economic scale. People are now starving in Sudan and elsewhere because Trump shut down selected USAID programs. His buddy Netanyahu is purposely starving to death thousands upon thousands of Palestinian children, and Trump is giving tacit approval by looking the other way.

Jesus healed the sick. Trump is shutting down Medicare programs that help economically deprived adults and children to get proper medical care.

Jesus preached an earthly gospel of empathy and compassion towards others. Trump clearly finds such instances to be signs of weakness, he has no use for them, his right-hand man Stephen Miller comes out and says such right out loud, and his “Christian” fundamentalist followers follow along like lemmings and actually find ways to justify such cruelty, as we will soon see. Fact is, it is quite clear that Trump pretty much can’t stand “the least of these” and doesn’t want to be around them or have anything to do with them. Instead, he cuts as many programs designed to help them as he can in order to provide huge tax cuts for himself and his wealthy elite buddies. More pure corruption.

Jesus would not recognize this hateful “Christian” Trumpcult as followers of his message of love and hope. Jesus would harshly criticize them for their utter hypocrisy just as he did with the Pharisees.

The Trump cult has hijacked patriotism and turned it into hateful xenophobia, and has now hijacked religion and turned it into nothing more than a political action committee that is about as far from Jesus-based Christianity as possible.

I'm not going to debate the politics of Trump's transformation of your healthcare system.
What I do understand, is that if you don't do something with your deficit - you might end up losing not only your healthcare system.

Jesus wasn't involved in the day-to-day running of the government. On party platforms, and scandals.

I speak for myself, as a Christian - I do support Trump (and also my newly-elected Prime Minister CARNEY, even though I didn't vote for him), simply because they are rulers (governments) in that they have been installed by GOD.
For what purpose? We don't know.

Romans 13:1

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.

Accepting and submitting to authorities instituted by GOD, is a show of humility before GOD.

Let's not forget that Trump sits as a ruler. His responsibility is to the nation, to his people.
He has to run his government that would be beneficial to his nation, and its people.
Trump hasn't even been in office for a long time - he hasn't done anything from what I see, that is contradictory to God's laws.
In your democratic system - laws are settled in courts........although, there are executive actions that are not under judgment from the court.

Trump - and all rulers - will answer to GOD, and will face judgment like all the rest of us.

I don't think Christians ought to listen to a "biblical judgment" being passed by an atheist like you.

SPIRITUALLY speaking, you have a more serious problem than just the affairs of the world.

That's where I come from (speaking as a Christian).

Therefore............

You mind your own business.
Let Christians mind their own.

true. all we need to do is to preach the truth in an attitude of love, because these people are facing the Toaster and need help.

actually many will say Lord Lord but didn't do what Jesus said.

too many think that a salvation prayer is all they neeed.........

wrong.

look at the book of James and see that God saves us to good works. if you go back to the world, you will lose your salvation in the end. this is an important point of Jesus, Paul, Peter and James/John.

but many miss this, thinking just a one time Salvation experience is all they need...then live back in their old life of sin: nope, we now need to repent and walk holy.

the question is: do you repent daily? do you live holy every day? do you have good works for God?

if not: why not?

many churches don't preach this for various reasons.........so i do. then i push a book by an ex baptist minister and bible college preacher who changed his faith to holiness....

Life in the Son 2.jpg...this is the Original and hits hard

life in the Son.jpg...this is the update and longer with Witzki adding to the original; both are great and will change how you think.

.....careful.

We can all give everyone a Bible, but will they all preach the truth...........................or tweak it to go by the narratives they prefer?

We've seen it.

all we need to do is to preach the truth in an attitude of love
Which begs the question, is it an attitude of love to use words such as MAGAt, "Dear Leader", tRump, Nazis, Fascists, basket of deplorables, Trumpies, Morons, Uneducated, Racists, Trumpies, garbage, etc. to describe those with opinions that differ from yours?

You're not speaking out of concern for Jesus' teachings.
You are using Jesus Christ to make Trump-supporting Christians feel guilty.

Your concern is to uphold your own political views.

probably not and should be avoided, however.............

however forn, you may wanna take a Good Look on what the Orange Monarch and his side kicks are up to. some of them are doing Excellent works and i commend them, RFK comes to mind.

others not so much; please open yur mind to what Dark Maga is all about. christians have been fooled on this one a 'bait and switch' for maga, which has morphed into 'Dark Maga'. most on the Left, center, or Right have no clue and this is NOT what anyone voted for: https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=Dark+Maga+is+technocracy&ia=web

i have been hollering and screaming concerning this ad nauseam, but so far, nobody taking up the Cause to wake up their friends on this forum.

why is this?

shouldn't christians be the FIRST to wave the Red Flags and promote the truth ??? well i think so...

Dark Maga 2.jpg...sorry i don't have any good Cartoons on this yet forn, cept this T-shirt free to anyone who wants to warn the sheep concerning the dangers usa is in............and the world too.

I do not by any means approve of everything Trump does or says. And actually, I am more critical of him on some other (more conservative) forums that I am on. But since this forum is about 80% Democrat, I usually find myself defending various positions of his. Because 80% of the forum is already dumping on him plenty. Certainly no earthly political candidate is going to come anywhere near perfection. Still, overall, and so far, I find his policies preferable to the left's. You are either going to pick a side, or you're going to stand out and not vote.

What are your thoughts about Netanyahu starving to death Palestinian children while Trump carefully looks the other way and does what he feels is more important, namely playing golf every weekend.

What are your thoughts about October 7? Hamas started this particular round of fighting. Trump gave Hamas a deadline to release the hostages. Hamas ignored that deadline, so Trump turned them over to Netanyahu to deal with. A deadline with no consequences is no deadline at all.

A backhanded way of saying that you refuse to condemn the purposeful starving of Palestinian children by Netanyahu while Trump looks the other way. I do.

Find something of what I said in the OP to not be true instead of just trying to make this about me. You can’t, which is why you don’t even try.

for starts: i am completely ANTI war for both sides....

what was the question again, it is hard to read the small print on this page. ???

but don't stop there, i am ANTI war for usa also. we need to bring home ALL the troops from every where and defend and build our own country. we also need to close ALL foreign bases and bring our Navy home.

after that, we need to stop importing things, unless absolutely necessary.

thanks for the question watsup, maybe there is something in this box of replies you may approve of, if not we can discuss my True Answers and Facts anytime.

for the most part, this forum doesn't even come close to answers, cause most don't want any. might as well call this the 'Fight Forum' for lack of a better term.

it just galls me when some christians claim that nuuuuks are 'God's Gift' to the usa.

nuff said, this ought to upset a few of few. ...........sorry no Cartoons on this cept this one....

1746719512337.jpeg...should we change our Motto to 'in chain saws we trust' ??? seems that is the trend, enjoy the carnage. https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=Dark+Maga+is+technocracy&ia=web
