Hey Maggie. I haven't been posting much, as I have had a squabble or two with the Mods. I live about 90 miles from Sanford, so I get plenty on this story, although its been mainstream everywhere.

We all want justice. What we have gotten though is BS. Not from law enforcement, but from the scum liberal media, and most of the black community.

ABC ran the original bogus and incorrect analysis last week, with only a grainy and edited video. NBC deliberately edited the 911 Zimmerman call. These were not accidents. These were not basic and prudent editing of media for time. It was all bull**** so as to hype this as a racial incident, where racism provoked the death of a 17 year old. Not a concerned citizen who was attacked. And not stupidity by an over-anxious Community Watch wannabee. Racism what done it, because that best fed the political frenzy that some hoped for and needed.

Meanwhile, Jesse and Al are setting back race relations 100 years. Good for their respective businesses, I suppose.

Not all. Some people want the truth. Some people see justice as killing Zimmerman. Truth, justice, and vengeance. People don't seem to grasp the differences between the words. (not saying you at all). Many people don't give a crap either way. Shapton and Jackson, in my opinion, would rather see Zimmerman walk so they can to continue to exploit Martin and his family for their own political gain. Countless people are using this to promote themselves and profit from it. Very few want the truth. Very few would be willing to accept that Zimmerman acted in self defense if that turns out to be the case. They only want "justice".

NBC has monkeyed with the evidence too.

"Reacting angrily to selective editing by NBC that suggested racial animus by George Zimmerman, NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell complained to Fox News's Sean Hannity last night that NBC News was engaged in an "all-out falsehood." The story in question was a March 27 Ron Allen report on NBC's 'Today' in which 911 audio was edited to make it sound like George Zimmerman said "he looks black" immediately after saying "this guy looks like he's up to no good."

In the actual 911 audio, Zimmerman only described Martin's race after the dispatcher asked, "And this guy: is he white, black, or Hispanic?" "To edit that out is so distorting," Hannity complained. The media is NOT qualified to present evidence in a fair in reasonable manner. The voice print analysis, this "enhanced" video and the original video are no substitute for a court of law. Zimmerman's guilt or innocence needs to determined by trial.

No. It needs to be determined in accordance with the Law.

A "trial" is but one aspect of the Law, is not a necessary or automatic step in the Law.

Court of law? Trial?

Evidently that's as likely as YOU being tried for the shooting of Trayvon Martin. BEFORE an individual can be arrested and tried for a crime, the evidence would have to support a reasonable expectation of an actual crime. Trayvon Martin was shot on Feb. 26, 2012. Common sense would indicate that YOU won't be arrested and tried, nor will George Zimmerman.

ABC and NBC are surely trying to fan the flames of this so-called racist-murder case. Wonder why they would do that during the election cycle of our incumbent mulatto president...? Could it be politically motivated?

Those look like injuries and if they are, his story about his injuries checks out although medical reports would be better. This doesn't change much.

Curious. You are 90 miles away and saw nothing, but assert as fact that it was because of racism and by a Community Watch wannabe. In fact he was in his Neighborhood Watch and you don't know whether it was racism or not.

OK...I'll say it. It doesnt MATTER. I dont disbelieve that he was getting his ass kicked. Thats an unfortunate bi-product when you stalk a man by car and on foot, against the direct guidance of a police dispatcher. See...if you are that person being stalked...you dont know what is up...you know some strange asshole is following you and that is NEVER good. There isnt a soul here that can honestly say that if they were in the 17 year olds position they wouldnt have reacted in SOME way. MANY here would react in the SAME way. Feel threatened...respond. I dont think for a second Zimmerman set out to murder the kid. I absolutely believe he is responsible, even criminally, for killing the kid.

His call to 911 could be considered "protecting a place" in the sense of his neighborhood. It's splitting definitional hairs.

There seems to be a lot of focus on whether Trayvon attacked Zimmerman or not. I have to say, I think that is completely besides the point. Trayvon was being chased down the street by a guy with a gun after doing nothing except going to the store to buy some skittles. Let's say Trayvon attacked Zimmerman in self-defense, and Zimmerman retaliated by shooting him. Doesn't exactly absolve Zimmerman of guilt. Zimmerman initiated the incident, against the advice of professionals. Even he admits that.

You should not be allowed to inject yourself into a situation, harass someone to the point where they lash out violently, and then kill them in "self-defense." Neither should stand-your-ground apply here. As Jeb Bush said: stand your ground means stand your ground. It doesn't mean chase after someone you haven't witnessed breaking any law and instigate a violent encounter. If anything, stand your ground applied to Trayvon, and look what it did for him...

Well, Zimmerman's argument is not simply that Trayvon attacked him, but that Zimmerman stopped following Trayvon and then Trayvon followed Zimmerman and attacked him - meaning that Trayvon was the one who provoked confrontation.

That story sounds ridiculous to me, but whatever.

Martin was a 17 year old, fueled by a dangerous combination of fear, adrenaline, and teen aged stupidity. Zimmerman is an adult, assumed to be in an authoritative role, who was carrying a firearm. He created the situation and is responsible for a dead kid.

1 - There was NO stalking

2 - Dispatchers have no police powers

3 - To insinuate that Zim who didn't follow the *guidance* of a 911 operator would be somehow at *fault for everything that happens next* demonstrates a lack of understanding of civil liability, specifically the principle of proximate cause.

For Zim to be liable, you'd have to be able to link what he did to the harm resulting. Merely failing to follow the directions of a 911 operator will not reach that level.

Get over it!

You misread my post. I am blasting those who claim racism as the cause, which is the very anti-Zimmerman position..

I am saying that the truth lies between that of Trayvon assaulting Zimmerman, where Z acts in self-defense, or where Z was just an over-zealous cop wannabee with an itchy trigger finger. And that the evidence and process needs to run its course.

You have made numerous assumptions above. Well beyond what little evidence that we have. There are possibilities for the events that put all the blame on one, or the other. And there are scenarios where both escalated matters. Ther are scenarios where some of the escalation was legal, and some not. Dittos for degrees of stupidity.

But you clearly have made assumptions completely not in evidence, and then drawn conclusions on those baseless assumptions.

Just read that the Today show ran the edited audio of Zimmerman's phone call to a police dispatcher in which Zimmerman says: "'This guy looks like he's up to no good … he looks black." The original, they say, did not have the "he looks black" part on the video. What a pile of condensed owl crap. Now NBC says they're gonna look in to it.
