Just what will we ever do with no more rainbow crosswalks?

Safety comes first

“Roads are for safety, not political messages or artwork".

=======================

In the letter, Duffy wrote, “Roads are for safety, not political messages or artwork. Today I am calling on governors in every state to ensure that roadways, intersections, and crosswalks are kept free of distractions.”

He added, “Far too many Americans die each year to [sic] traffic fatalities to take our eye off the ball.” He assured the governors that the Transportation Department “stands ready to help communities across the country make their roads safer and easier to navigate.” Just this June, a Rhode Island man was reportedly arrested for leaving skidmarks on a rainbow crosswalk. Hopefully, Duffy’s new guidance will help the man as his case moves forward.

How do skidmarks make roads "safer and easier to navigate"?

The city of Key West would like a word.

WOW! Rainbow crosswalks. Who'da thunk it? I've never seen or heard of one. Sounds like a real attention grabber to me. I'm sure if I were driving around and came across one, it would be hard to miss.
Rainbows - Make America Safe Again

They should all be rainbow crosswalks.

Road markings should be standardized nationwide for safety and visibility, not political messaging.

Lol, air travel still in the shitter and this is what this goofball concentrates on.

Well, it gives you a tingle up your leg so there's that.

Besides, this is bullshit. He has no jurisdiction over roads outside of interstates.

Crap zerohedge and fascists are out. Duffy can go **** himself along with all the magidiot fascist assholes. Nothing else to do but go after the LBGTQ like the good Christian nationalist fascist ****s they are. I see your orange Jesus is continuing to support Russia. How nice.

We should get rid of all the signs that say which church is where too then, right?
Road markings and signs are two different things.

What point are you trying to make?

You really do love big brother telling people what they can and can't paint on their town's roads. Good for you, I guess, but ironic because no doubt you will celebrate "freedom" tomorrow.

And safety - are you not able to drive safe just because a rainbow is painted on some intersections? If so, you might want to enroll in driving school.

You beat me to it. What Republicans don’t understand anymore is it’s not their ideology that makes them hated. It’s the hypocrisy like this. And for people who keep saying we aren’t trying to hurt anyone, literally all this poster does is post stuff about how this group or that gets hurt. Maybe we need a civil war in this country.

Hypocrisy.
Whose hypocrisy?

I simply stated that road markings are for safety and visibility. A sign on the roadside is not a “road marking”. The difference should be clear.

I’ll even expand my sentiment to include “traffic” signs. Stop signs and the like should remain standardized. Put up any advertising signs, including “This highway adopted by…” , you like.
