Not if Huma is in league with the Muslim Sisterhood, they are a radical islamist group. Like I said earlier, don't know how strong the case is against her or how deep her connections are but that should concern everyone. I would agree if it was just her muslim faith, but come on, a branch of the Muslim Brotherhood deserves scrutiny. It is about anti-Muslim sentiments. Abedin is attacked because Bachman claims "her family has ties to Muslim Brotherhood", note that's her family, not Abedin herself. That's like WWII, if your family is Japanese, off you go to the "internment" camp, doesn't matter what your history actually is or whether you're guilty of anything or not in Bachman's deluded mind.
If anyone was seriously concerned about foreign influence on the US government, look no further than Israel, but that's not the real concern here. If anyone want to get rid of religious influence on the US government, look to Christianity, but that's not the issue here. The issue is that Bachman is a bigot who thinks she can benefit from the anti-Muslin hysteria amongst her followings.

DO you have any evidence to back that up, or do you enjoy publically slandering and disrespecting a member of the United States Congress?
There's something wrong when she's a target because of her religion. If all they care about is "foreign influence", a lot of people with ties to the IRA and Israel would have to be questioned and investigated everyday.
So when it's done to Bachman it's "publically slandering and disrespecting a member of the United States Congress" but when Bachman uses her office to slander another person, it's "reasonable to question an aide's security clearance"? If Bachman can question the standing of a person who has pass the security clearance as others have, who has never been shown to have done anything wrong to merit the accusations claimed by Bachman base on nothing but what she built up in her mind, I can can question Bachman's sanity, especially given her words and actions in the public.

this is a secular woman, who doesn't cover her hair and doesn't follow Halaal restrictions.
she is obviously a proud American, as she works for our State Dept.
do we REALLY want her appearing before a Senate Committee, saying "I have not now nor have I ever been a member of the Communist Party"???????????
do we REALLY want to do this again?
Right, so anytime anyone accuses a Muslim of having a link to Muslim brotherhood, that person should immediately comes under suspicion and be investigated by their employer, no matter "how a strong a case" it is? Do you not realise that that is yet?
there are more than a few folks with influence in Washington, who have ties to Irish Republican and right-wing Israeli political groups.
but see, that's ok.
If national security is at stake, you bet we do. Alger Hiss ring a bell?
There's no evidence that Bachman slandered anyone.
Accusing someone of influencing the US government to help groups with ties to terrorists, with the possible impact of destroying their career, is not slander to you?
So, certain groups are above question, because to do so would be politically incorrect?
being a modern secular Muslim woman, is not a national security risk.
do you understand this?
if proven false, its grounds for impeachment.

Having family connections to a terrorist orginization is.
what's next, hauling Keith Ellison before a Senate Committee to prove he is not a member of Al Qaeda?
her father.....who has been dead for 20 ****ing years????
is that how desperate the Islamophobes have become?
Does he have family members in AQ?
Researching it a bit, the only accusation that has any proof supporting it is the one against her brother (the accusations against her mother seems based on some "secret list" that no one can confirm?). But that evidence is rather poor quality and rests on the fact that her brother sits on the board the the Oxford Centre For Islamic Studies, which supposedly includes membership from a few fundamentalist clerics (I didn't really look into their details so can't confirm this claim).
This is an extremely weak association to hold anyone accountable for (why would you judge anyone by the people they work with?)
hmmm......maybe someone should look into this!!
