Genuine question: What do you need/want guns for?
I don't own any guns. However, whenever I think of buying I always think of two weapons:
1. The Colt 45 1911 military model. Dependable, easy to maintain and excellent stopping power.
2. The M-14 Army model Rifle. It is extremely durable, easy to maintain, accurate at all ranges, uses 7.62 MM ammunition, and is the American equivalent of the AK-47, a dependable all-weather and environment weapon. One final feature, if you run out of ammo you can beat someone to death with it.
I have experience with both weapons. They are not fancy, but they get the job done.
Here are the guns are own as of right now. Please tell me why I shouldn't own them and should be taken away from me. Also I sold my 1911 and .30-30 rifle via private sale please tell me why I shouldn't have done that.
Because you got rid of the two best weapons you had and kept a bunch of wheel guns. Who does that?
One who knows revolvers are good guns.
I agree. I want one. I want a .44 mag. I want a .357 also.

For a .357 mag, go for a Model 686 + 4 in Barrel. You can also shoot .38 spl with it.
For a .44 mag go for a model 629 6 in (or longer if you plan to hunt with it). You can also shoot .44 spl with it.
I was thinking the Ruger Redhawk for the .44 and the Ruger SP101 for the .357 but I haven't handled them. I will check out the S&Ws when we start looking. I already have the dies for both.
Sweet revolvers. Son Numbah One is drooling over my shoulder, he loves wheelguns.
I don't fool with the laser sights though. When I hit my shooting stance I can't see the dot without lowering the pistol a bit, and don't see much sense in breaking my posture for the sake of an aiming aid, when my stance and hand position IS my aim. Maybe one day someone will make laser sights you can see over the top of the iron sights...
The laser is for when I don't have time to aim using the iron sights. I can active the laser as I draw the weapon in one clean motion.
Are you shooting from the hip or from center lock or some other "retention" position?
Never heard that before, but I like it!I hope you didn't break both ankles jumping to these conclusions.
If you like the feel of the Ruger, go for it, I personally can't stand Rugers. SW has the best trigger pull of any gun.
Children have a right to bear arms, but wisely, a more limited and heavily regulated right subject to proper supervision.
No one cares if children on the farm bear a 22 or shotgun for animal control or go hunting.
The ability to carry a loaded pistol in school, where other peoples kids are the backstop, that by god is a privilege that no minor needs to be extended to

Another Leftist that thinks people should have guns. These scared to death Conspiracy Theory gun crazies think the Left wants to take them all away. It helps the gun industry sell more at the expense of exposing the ignorance of some.
Turtledude openly told me he think the Left Wing wants to ban all guns. I was in such stupidity shock I got Forest Whitaker eye for a minute.
Because the 30-30 is a classic cartridge often put in beautiful classic weapons, and at one time was the premier deer cartridge for close, heavily wooded, suburban/exurban, or denser areas. If it was a Winchester 94 (rifleman), you were doubly stupid!
The 1911 is another classic gun, usually worth a lot of $$$, and is one amazing defense weapon, if you can handle it's heft. It's relatively light on recoil for such a large caliber, and delivers a slow but amazingly heavy projectile. If you want a stopper, this is the gun. The old .45 ACP axiom of "any body shot puts him down" has some merit. Nobody takes a hit from a 45 ACP, then flinches & runs away. The 1911 is beautiful, and has an illustrious military history.
I think I gave you good reasons!
Any questions?

Hey, is that some kind of an update of a Chief's special? Looks like a 5 shot cylinder.
I had J frames before and liked 'em, but always wanted a Chief's Special. Great little pocket guns.
Thanks. The Chief's special has a hammer. My wife has one. I don't know the name of this hammerless model.
I got both. If you get them I recommend Smith and Wesson.

I very rarely, if ever see anyone on this forum advocating the position that anyone should take away anyone else on this forums guns. As a gun owner myself, I certainly do not advocate this. Obama's executive orders do not advocate this. Your irrational fears of a non-existent issue are irrational. Go home, you're drunk.
Thanks.
Yeah, it always was an extremely popular lady's gun, especially for petite women. Ironically though, its lightness and compactness means it kicks a bit more than a heavier frame Smith. So you get a light small gun, but its kick can be a little sharp with stock grips.
No, it's not a 'heavy' recoil in the general sense, but it can be a bit sharp with the stock wood grips and hotter loads. It is just a .38 spl. Not much recoil.
