Time to consider a face shield?

I had to google them so I could remember. They are also called harem pants.
I didn't wear them and I was pretty current, still am, as far as fashion goes.

I did..between 1987 and 1989...by 1989 they were fading out as being in style..so did every other girl in my school.

Back to the thread. I don't think I will get a face shield. Hard enough to breath with a mask on and that too? No thank you.
We stay home mostly except for necessary things. I've been wearing my sun glasses though with my mask and so far so good.

Meh. I've flown to Cancun. I've gone to restaurants. I've gone to stores. I went to the Broncos-Dolphin game at Mile High. You have to keep living your life.

However, here in Colorado we bought into the common sense fact that masks help slow the spread, which reduces pressure on hospitals, and offers time to health officials and scientists. Thus, like in Cancun, workers at restaurants, stores, and stadiums wear masks, while the customers wear masks while walking around. We are also 100% virtual for schools in my county since the spread exploded everywhere in the country. I moved my kid out here from L.A., which has locked her out of a job since March. The only one to get COVID in my tribe was another older daughter who is in the Air Force because her band of misfits took a trip to filthy Vegas, where masks were "dumb." Durp.

THIS should have been Trump's message. Pushing social distancing and masks would have a gone a long way to keeping businesses moving while being responsible. We know this is true because Australia stands out as an example. Australia and New Zealand are filling Soccer stadiums right now because they attacked this crap when we should have. Instead, we played political games, abruptly declared a national emergency, saw cities and states lock out, and then bully states into reckless abandonment to re-open. Our stadiums are mostly empty and the virus is like an out-of-control wild fire. We exacerbated economic trouble and pretended that it was about "liberty" or "liberation from tyranny."

LOL, I had to laugh because wears glasses is pretty much teh same as using a face shield.

I will purchase some face shields and then wear them with double masks. Not only for 'two way street' health protection but to royally piss off the anti masker Trump humping Karen's I may run into out there on the street or in the stores.

Why would YOU wearing a face mask piss them off? You making THEM wear a face mask pisses them off. I will continue wearing my N95 masks. I prefer to wear something that actually works if I'm going to the trouble of wearing a mask.

You must have missed the coverage of Karen's getting angry at folks wearing masks without there being any attempt to make others wear masks?

Granted most most incidents go the other way but all along the way I have read about incidents here and there where mask wearing folks have been accosted for their choice.

Unsealed masks are ineffective for the most part. You need to have NBC PPE on to MOPP4 standards to have effective anti viral protection.

Masks and face shields are much more about keeping you from spreading COVID to others than they are about protecting you. The best thing a person can do in terms of protecting themselves is to limit their time in indoor public areas.

Being in good metabolic health is very important as well. While there are exceptions, in most cases the difference between a mild COVID case and a serious one is a person's physical health and fitness.

The best thing a person can do to lessen their chance of developing a severe COVID case is getting into shape. That is true regardless of whether you are 30 or 70.

The link between obesity and serious infection is antidotally unmistakable if you simply watch the news and see the images of the seriously sick. I take no issue with this.
That said, I have read repeatedly that the amount infection incurred is teh most direct link to serious illness.
