Maybe my eyes aren't as good as they used to be but it appears to me that the lowest price in the last year is the CURRENT price right now.

Since President Donald Trump took office, egg prices have experienced a remarkable 61% decline. This significant drop comes after a period of soaring prices, which peaked in March at over $8 per dozen. The primary cause of this surge was an avian flu epidemic that began in 2022, affecting over 166 million birds, including 127 million laying hens. This outbreak led to a substantial reduction in the annual inventory of laying hens, driving prices to historic highs.

Looks like Trump is winning again.

Trump had nothing to do with the price of eggs.

About 4.50 for the cheapest dozen here. Still high, but down. Though we haven't had a bird flu outbreak as of late and now Easter is over, and egg prices tend to fall after Easter. Nothing to do with Trump.

A dozen large cage free eggs (the only kind allowed to be sold in Colorado) are $2.96 at my local Walmart. People are buying them up and they are currently out of stock.

Trump shortages

And a shortage of supply
At that price, it doesn't matter how many they had, people would have bought them all up. But no problem...Walmart will have more, soon.

The whole egg story was the well-meaning but totally misguided idea to pay farmers to cull their flocks. What can you say? Leftist thinking cost both consumers AND the goverment!

Per AI, just a few thoughts, none of which mention the felon.

Decreased Bird Flu Outbreaks
Increased Egg Imports
Stabilized Retail Inventory
Lower Consumer Demand: Faced with persistently high prices, some consumers reduced their egg purchases or sought alternatives.

As an aside, a new flock of laying hens are producing. Molting is over.
Still, no mention of the felon.

According to the fat guy eggs are $.37 a dozen.

We usually are having to buy 10 per pack and this is a reliable source for such information:

And:

Japan's consumer price index for eggs rose 23.6% between 2022 and 2024. A popular brand is now at 278 yen ($1.90) for 10, compared with 199 yen five years earlier, according to point-of-sale data from Nikkei POS.

Exchange rate is about 140-150 range per US dollar.

EDIT: Also I don't think we usually are sold eggs of the size that used to be common in the States. Not sure about size in the last few decades over there.

I know the news narrative makers have forgotten this was so important back in February but only they have the gaslighting ability and memory of a goldfish.

The rest of us have long memories.

They just keep falling.

On a monthly basis, overall prices ticked up just 0.1% from April to May, down from 0.2% the previous month, with inflationary pressures appearing muted. Core prices also dropped to 0.1% from 0.2%.

Yes all the experts around the facts keep naysaying. I don't care about that. They're not very good experts when they are constantly wrong.

$2.72 here! Good news for people who need eggs.
