Right, so this is more a case of Trump being better at selling an image. I've heard nothing disclaiming that Walz doesn't hunt, and him being a hunter and angler predates his presidential run. Trump pretending to be a tough guy was something most NYers never believed, but much like the idea of him being a successful businessman, these ideas spread after the notoriety he received with The Apprentice. This summarizes Donnie Boy's real world "tough guy" cred:
