Scott is the first Black senator elected in the South since Reconstruction – and the third overall. Shortly after the Civil War, Mississippi elected two Black Republicans – Blanche Bruce and Hiram Revels – to the US Senate. In 2020, Sen. Raphael Warnock, D-Ga., became the first Black Democratic senator elected in the South in that timespan.

On the left-leaning talk show, “The View” host Whoopi Goldberg suggested Scott has “Clarence Thomas syndrome.” Thomas, a conservative US Supreme Court justice from neighboring Georgia, has long been attacked by the left for not toeing what they believe is the proper jurisprudential line based on his skin color.

First they went after Clarence Thomas, now the racist libs are going after Tim Scott. Why do these lefty gangsters hate successful black men so much?

LOL! Who you are attracted to and deem worth defending, vs who you criticize and are dismissive of, defines who you are.

Tim Scott voted in lockstep with his christian nationalist senate colleagues to confirm three consecutive white Roman Catholic
nominees by Trump to Supreme Court seats and 54 consecutive appeals court judge nominees, none of them black, the youngest Trump could find, to occupy for at least the next 25 years, 57 of the 188 total seats of the combined seats of the two highest courts, while at the same time, Sen. Scott contradictorily chortles about how, if he, a grandson of a cotten picker "can make it," anybody can.
A bullshit feedback loop played to a white supremacist constituency.

BIDEN: What was the content of what he said?

(Anita) HILL: Well, this was a reference to an individual who had a very large penis. And he used the name that he had been referred to in the pornographic material.

HILL: Yes, I do. The name that was referred to was Long Dong Silver..."

"...In settling the case, Williams closes the door on further embarrassments stemming from the proceeding. The original complaint, filed last July, outlined an astonishing set of interactions between Williams, a veteran presence on conservative radio, and Woodyard. In the course of their relationship, Williams set up a meeting for Woodyard with Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas; took him for workouts at the Capitol Hill Results Gym; and allowed Woodyard to stay at his house. At that residence, alleged the complaint, Williams attempted to take the relationship to a new level. Williams allegedly “grabbed Mr. Woodyard’s penis through his pants and said to him, ‘you got small feet, small hands … and an oversized weapon. How does that work? How is that possible?’” says the complaint, noting that Woodyard rejected the advances."

Aw.

Did poor widdle MAGAT Tim Scott get triggered by irrelevant comments from a has been and now essentially washed up entertainer babbling her worthless opinions on, THE VIEW, of all places?

MAGATS are such wimps.

And it has begun...

The tide swell of white supremacists grabbing the coattails of a black conservative in an attempt to belittle and dismiss attempts to adhere to our constitution.

I've lost track of which round this is--but I can't wait for the day when it's actually not necessary to protect our constitutional rights for those who are denied them, because those who are good with having them don't want or care about everyone else having them.

Poor baby.
The only time you people care about race is when the person is a Republican.
Otherwise, you don’t give a shit.

There are exceptions to everything. Having said that, it is not his skin color I hate, it's his politics. Starting with trying to convince us he represents minorities as a part of his life. Check his voting record.

The View should just address Tim Scott's ideas, or not. I don't like when people randomly bring race into it, unless it's relevant to address a specific policy of the candidate.

Anyone remember when Tim Scott said he'd enact a federal abortion ban if elected president? Pepperidge Farm Remembers.

He did support a rather tepid race and police reform bill, but I'm betting he won't be bringing it up.

Republicans want Trump over Scott by 58 points. This is the GOP's problem, not ours.

All his candidacy does is help the Trump campaign.

Maybe something for him in the future, but I don't see how.

Frankly, I'm a little confused why he's even in the news. How often does the news cover a candidate who's trailing the presumptive nominee by 58 mother****ing points?

I mean, can you imagine if Trump or Biden led the other by 58 points? It would be the story of the year.

Me too, I don’t see why anyone in the GOP thinks there is a chance in hell that the nominee will be anyone else but Trump. What further confuses me is the donors that think their money is well spent supporting the also rans.

Because Conservative black men in politics or business continue to remind black people that the NAACP and people like Al Sharpton are not needed to constantly tell blacks they are oppressed and held back in America.
Tim Scott represents resourcefulness and accomplishments without the need to talk about racial injustice and resentment by blacks in this country. It is the kind of success story the so-called 'black leaders' do not wish to hear.

Remember that support came after the bill was dramatically lowered in it's aspirations.

As POTUS, he would not have the authority to do that, which tells me he lacks the basic IQ points to be in office.

He is just another GQP traitor.

They don't care about black success, especially when successful blacks don't toe the lefty line. They are always the "exception" and not the rule. Millions of successful black people in this country but they are all lucky I guess.

Uncle Clarence deserves everything he gets.

Tim Scott has a right to be a conservative, i haven't seen anything that warrants treating him like a sell out. Clarence literally sold out, so treating him like a sell out is the only way he should be treated.

So long as he doesn't threaten Big Papa MAGAs are happy to use Scott as long as he's useful.

"Look at our African American over there!"
That is very cynical. I thought Independents were supposed to be open-minded.
Is your quote critical of what MAGAs may think about Tim Scott in the race?
