THP, ICE make 150 traffic stops overnight, detain unknown number (3 Viewers)

I woke up this morning to some most excellent news.

THP worked with ICE in my region to round up illegals who thumb their noses at our laws.

The local news this morning is hilarious as they become all somber and such as they report the story.

Too bad how sad. Indeed most unfortunate. :ROFLMAO:

Look, if you are here illegally then get the message, you are not welcome here. And you will be rounded up and shipped out.

Self deportation is the honorable and likely more favorable method. Choose your own destiny

When folks like you delight in stuff like this, I take comfort in that you will have to answer for it when your soul is judged. Given your posts over time, I assuming you claim to be Christian. Your conduct will be noted. That aside...

I thought that your choice of avatar is interesting since you make a big deal about "illegals who thumb their noses at our laws." I say that because the movie still you chose is that of Paul Newman in "The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean". Newman's character plays an outlaw who is captured by the locals, noosed with one end tied to the saddle of his horse who runs off, dragging him. He survives, a woman heals him and he goes back to town and murders everyone in revenge...and then appoints himself as judge.

He then tracks down a band of bandits in the town who are causing trouble, robbing the townsfolks...and appoints them as his Marshals. They hunt down other "outlaws" where bean sentences them to hang once arrested, whereupon he and his "Marshals" divide up the loot they find. He also orders that the prostitutes in town cannot leave, as they need to service him and his "lawmen", effectively becoming a pimp among other things. Then there is fining a man he killed because he shot a painting and leaving the woman he made pregnant to have an affair with another woman in San Antonio...and when he returns, the woman dies in childbirth and he tries to kill the doctor but is stopped, finally.

This movie is supposed to be a comedy, but I guess you put the avatar up because it was Paul Newman with a rifle across his legs and it looked tough to you. Or, you are unaware that the real Judge Roy Bean was also a criminal (assault, robbery, murder, etc.) who would only use an outdated state lawbook and would burn anything new and updated pertaining to new laws he was supposed preside over. Some of the instances in the movie were based on real life events, like fining a dead body so he could pocket the money and other items the dead man had on him.

So, here you are, talking about "illegals", "thumbing their noses at our laws" and other comments when your avatar literally did that in a movie that was based on a guy who also thumber his nose at the law. Kind of hypocritical if you ask me.

Side note: Paul Newman was a registered Democrat his entire life. So, your avatar is using the image of a man whose politics you disagree with. Good job.

I see my avie has triggered you. Sorry about that.

I see my avie has triggered you. Sorry about that.

When George W. Bush was President there was a big push by the Tea Party people to build the Wall. They ran around chanting their motto. Fences make good neighbors. After a bit, people who had actually read the Poem told the Tea Party people that the phrase didn’t mean what they thought it did. The phrase fell out of fashion. We haven’t heard it again as a way to describe the benefits of a Wall.

Using what was in essence a Mob Boss as your Avatar is funny. So the person responding decided to see if you had chosen it because Roy Bean was a big time crook, or in spite of it.

We all say or do things that we might not really understand. It’s human. The other human thing is to learn and make better choices going forward.

funny how they confuse immigrants with illegally here people

yes - there is a huge difference

Just because people voted for something doesn't automatically make it a good idea.

People voted for Brexit.
That's been a complete shitshow.
It's a universal rule - especially in politics - that "shitshows" follow profound policy changes until adjustments are made. Then everybody settles down. Brexit to my mind was a good idea and will serve Britain well. The EU is a huge umbrella that people thought would protect them from economic calamities and other pitfalls, aka the rain. But it blocks out the sunlight, too. Not working out very well for Germany, is it?? The EU is just another tier furthering average Europeans with differing cultures from self- representation. And the EU is very flawed. It's just that the extreme social element in Europe won't sufficiently acknowledge it

Actually. The vast majority of people in Europe approve of the EU.

The vast majority?? The growing number of French supporting LePen's party and Germany's right wing rise suggests that the economic powerhouses footing all the big bills are showing cracks in their support. If you're in a nation on the receiving end of financial support, sure, it's great

Sadly you might have been right. However we elected Trump. And Trump has a way of turning things to absolute crap.

Europe, including your example France, is marching together in opposition to Trump. While they may not have adored the EU, they now look to it to be a foil against Trump.

Just as in Canada and Australia. The rising Right Wing is knocked back by the actions of Trump. It isn’t just a majority of Americans who don’t like Trump. It’s now the world.

Well, that's not exactly true. Trump's importance may be a temporary "unifying force." But Germany's economy is tanking. And Le Pen was set up in terms of running and the French know it. Both these economies are the driving force behind the EU, especially after it lost Britain, and there's only so long a "common enemy" is going to distract people from their homeland problems. And they're big problems

ICE was created to protect us from foreign threats. Are traffic stops in Tennessee really an effective use of their time?

You may be right. However the polling doesn’t seem to show that. The recent elections don’t seem to indicate this high level of dissatisfaction. If anything the EU seems to be growing stronger thanks to Trump and the RW Lunacy here.

At this point, the Cheerleaders like yourself seem to be like the CEO of the Dog Food Company in the old joke. They had the best jingle, the best packaging, the best ads. Why wasn’t the product selling? The dogs don’t like it.

At this rate, Trump will probably guarantee the EU’s existence for at least two Generations before he’s done.

Trump doesn't guarantee anything. The EU's existence will be fully determined by the well being of Europeans regardless of US leadership personalities. At this point, I give it eight years on the outside. You don't like Trump so you want him to fail. I don't like or dislike Trump. I am focused on policies so to be clear, there is no "cheerleading" for me, just policies. I think Trump is right in trying to rectify our huge national debt and shedding illegal immigrants that we can't afford with some of them a potential - even proven - danger. The Administration is working to end destructive and immoral foreign wars on 2 fronts, and for that, it has my full support.

We're not selling dog food, SavannahMann. Whatever the rest of the world wants a taste of, it will have by virtue of its own people. But the US must prevail, and it will, regardless of the forces that try to destroy it. Why?? Because despite all our flaws, we feel guilt, we try to correct our failings, and fundamentally, the most moral ideologies generated in this free society make for changes that prevail

You know, I like Policy too. So when we are discussing something like, oh budget deficits. Great. We have a blueprint for how to deal with it. We actually balanced the budget before. We did so with Moderate Taxes on the Rich, and intelligent cuts to Government. And it worked. We had a good economy, we had a balanced budget. Things were pretty good overall.

We have historical examples for the Tariff plan too. It’s never once delivered anything but economic recession or depression. Not once. Not even by accident. It has always harmed the economy.

So when we are told that we can’t raise taxes on the rich. That isn’t fair. It isn’t right to punish success. In the mean time Trump is now telling people to get used to doing with less. Not the rich of course. Just us little people. Our kids don’t need that many toys. They don’t need all those pencils for school.

The rich can’t do with less. So we are told the rest of us will. Now, as a policy guy, I’m thinking that is about as screwed up as a Soup Sandwich.

As a lover of History I can think of a few times in history where that policy was pursued and it didn’t really end well.

Now onto the Illegals. Okay. We are told we have to round up those illegals. But the ICE folks are gabbing Green Card Holders when they come in for their appointments. These are folks working, paying taxes, and following the rules. Apparently they are the only ones ICE can find.

Then we come to the question of Due Process. Now apparently the Left, the Courts, and everyone else is just awful for pointing to the Constitution and saying you can’t do that. What is even worse is by following those rules, Biden managed to deport even more than Trump did. Again, I look at historical examples and scratch my head when the claims don’t seem to match the historical facts.

So I really don’t understand the people, like yourself, who say they support the policies. I’m left with one question. Why? We have lots of historical examples of what works and what doesn’t. We have every single economist saying Trump’s financial policies are going to be really bad. We have every single Judge, including those appointed by Trump saying that they can’t just ignore due process when it comes to illegals.

So just out of curiosity. What will it take for you to see that these policies are just really bad? Will you still be all in favor when the unemployment goes up?

I woke up this morning to some most excellent news.

More brown people were deported?

As you speed in your car, making rolling "stops"... sharing streaming service passwords, jaywalking, washing your car in driveway in many places... etc etc etc.

Luckily you don't speak for the rest of us... just the bigots.
