I wonder if I could illegally sneak across the border into Mexico, find an under the table job despite speaking very little Spanish, and then go down to the local Mexican DMV and get me a Mexican Drivers License?

... I'm in Mexico... and you don't want to do that... not because of the law... but because most of the illegal immigrants work for wages the average Mexican would not work for.
If you don't have a Federally issued voter card in Mexico you can't do anything, so no.
I was being facetious, but I would imagine that even in Mexico it would at least require some bribes for someone that wasn't even legally supposed to be there to get a drivers license.
It's actually quite easy to get a driver's license. A fake IFE and 300 pesos does the job.
Where I am they are checking everything once and again.
It is a whole show now to buy license plates for a car or even to changes them every three years.
You know those guys that help get your car registered? The guys that don't work directly for the state?
The arrested them all here, took them to the capital and some are still facing charges for falsifying documents and other things.

What i think is funny is that the GOV thinks that these people are going to get insurance and everything else in order to drive.
i can't wait till they get into an accident kill someone don't have insurance but nothing happens to them.
Eleven states have it now, you don't think we've had that scenario yet?
If we have then they have kept it hush hush and no one is reporting on it except for maybe local news stations. i haven't heard anything about it here.
we don't hand them out here and we still have illegals getting into wrecks.

License and auto insurance are good things. The real outrage is they have jobs.
It IS an outrage that they have jobs, but how is further legitimizing them "a good thing"?
 they aren't going to get insurance. yet they are still going to cause accidents and wrecks. which drives up insurance costs.License and auto insurance are good things. The real outrage is they have jobs.

worst the insurance company will probably have to fix their car as well.
It was rhetorical, I'm certain!
Why would an insurance company have to fix someone's car who does not have insurance?
At least when they run into you on their way to work they have insurance, and maybe dont hit you at all becasue they went to drivers ed.
Liability insurance covers the other car if you are at fault.
The point is that Mexico is a lot harder on those kinds of things than the US.
In most states I think it is impossible for the other driver to be at fault if the other driver does not have a liscense.
Exactly. We all know that. My first post to the op made fun of the notion that anywhere else in the world a person could sneak into a country, secure employment and then be invited to receive a driving privilege card. Then several others posted similarly and you seem to have taken it all serious. We know! That it wouldn't be possible in Mexico, or ANYWHERE else for that matter.
The very first guy in the story has a job. Why?
