This is the result of the ‘travel ban’.[W:261]

Re: This is the result of the ‘travel ban’.

Classic Case of someone who doesn't care how wrong its governments policies are, as long as you think they only affect brown people... And it's been this way all the way along since 9/11.

I'm far less of a racist than you. you really need to not use "brown people" as a bat in debate, it just makes people feel embarrassed for you, boogie

Re: This is the result of the ‘travel ban’.

No doubt you as well.
You’re like one of those people that visit all of the countries at Disney’s Epcot center and then brag about how well traveled and in tune that you are with foreign cultures.

I bet I've been to more countries than you. ;)

Re: This is the result of the ‘travel ban’.

Muslims Countrys and their residents should aid America in rooting out terrorism instead of sponsoring it. Then perhaps their citizens will be more accepted around the world.

Do we know if this guy is an Iranian citizen? I think the only thing we know is that he was born there.

Re: This is the result of the ‘travel ban’.

Who was born in a country who cannot vet it's citizens creating a national security risk for our nation.

Yet mysteriously, the UK is ok with him living there and he’s entered a PhD program and has been recognized enough to be able to get travel funding for international conferences.

Clearly a high risk that some cleric has put him into a PhD program and had him studying neurobiology, just for the chance to sneak into the US and do terror.

Hah!

Although I’m guessing Florida might be too exotic of a destination for him.

If you asked me should there be a waiver program, I would agree with you. but you are too busy crying for this poor guy who cant attend sci-con in the US as a means to get trump as you actually don't care about this guy.

He was denied a Visa, I do not think people carrying UK Passports require a visa.

There is a waiver program, his letter stated that he did not qualify for it, as his not coming to the US would not pose any undue hardship.
The letter (from his own twitter) went on to say he could reapply with better justification.

Sounds like the process may work. it will be interesting to see what the usual suspects here would say if he gets in,.

Re: This is the result of the ‘travel ban’.

Just a single datapoint, but it’s been replicated hundreds of not thousands of times.

A PhD student traveling to the US from London for a scientific conference is refused a visa.

Because of the country he was born in.

Does anyone feel safer?

These kinds of things will just drive investment and talent and brains outside of the US.

Then again, the Trumpettes probably are happy that less scientific activity will happen in the US.

There are six countries on the list which support and export terrorism. This guy just happened to be born in one of them. Was he denied just because of where he was born? Was he denied because the country he is from supports and exports terrorism and terrorist? Perhaps both. His visa wouldn't have been denied if his own country wasn't supporting and exporting terrorism.

This guy couldn't control where he was born and he probably has had no say in whether or not his government, his government supports and exports terrorism. I think we can all be sure of the first, but not so much on the second.

There's an old adage in cases like this, "The good of the many out weigh the good of the few." Or in this case, the one. Another old adage is, "Better safe than sorry." I suppose one has to draw the line somewhere. Where that line is drawn isn't always fair. But one must draw it anyway.

Since 9/11 I kind think it's the Islamic radical thing more that the browness,
LOL

Re: This is the result of the ‘travel ban’.

People are flying here from the UK for a conference??? Don't these polluters know the ice caps are melting and we are all going to die? Good for Trump. Fewer people flying around the globe for useless reasons the longer the planet will survive.

impressed by your application of logic to this situation
because we know that flight was not flown only because the one person was not allowed to board

I care about scientific conferences.

Guess your vast education and travel experience doesn’t allow you to see that point.

Entering the U.S. is a privilege and not a right. Too bad so sad.

Comicons are not scientific conferences. I guess reading marvel you fancy yourself a scientist.

Re: This is the result of the ‘travel ban’.

You fail at sarcasm, reading it, and typing it. you should feel shame.

Oh, right.

"You thought I was serious? I was joking/being sarcastic/being ironic! Where's your sense of humour/sarcasm/irony?"
You're starting to challenge a certain nameless (ahemvmcough!) poster for most triggered snowflake in the blizzard.

I always found it funny how cowardly little emotional leftists try to co-opt the word "#snowflake" and "#triggered". you are funny people. I mean really, My safe space involves slapping hands and simulating murder, not cuddle puppies and counselors to console me because my candidate lost. that's all on you and your ilk mal. words have meaning, trying to steal them and use them in the wrong context doesn't change the fact that your side is having a massive #triggered meltdown.

I guess when you can’t defend your point, you throw ad hominems based on fantasy.

Makes sense.

Meltdown? My side is having a massive gigglefest watching you lot bicker and name-call and slap at each other like in the girls washroom. There's some here on both sides who talk about things and argue like adults and there's some who come into a thread, first post, with the attitude bristling and the juvenile schoolyard taunts flying. Guess which is you.

I made you write your longest post in weeks just by using the word 'snowflake', that's how triggered you are.

You really need to check the left side of your glasses, they seem very rose colored.

You ran your mouth at me, now you are suggesting that I'm the one not arguing like an adult?

How about you act like one, and I'll treat you like one. really simple.
