This is the result of the ‘travel ban’.[W:261]

Re: This is the result of the ‘travel ban’.

Very brave to suggest someone is a nazi from the internet. You are more of a fascist/racist than me, so I'm not sure what you are cackling about goof.

Well, then you tell me what you are uniformed about.

Re: This is the result of the ‘travel ban’.

You called me ignorant, goof. It's your job to explain why.

You do know "ignorant" meant to be "uniformed", right goof?

Re: This is the result of the ‘travel ban’.

The Trump administration's brain drain is pervasive at all levels of government and now even the private sector. These are the effects of bumbling fools leading the blind down a dark alley.

I’m sure some uniformed people are ignorant.

But ignorant people aren’t necessarily uniformed.

And I cannot tell if you’re uniformed or not, but your ignorance about the consequences of this travel ban, based on the OP, is staggering.

Looks fine on my phone, but here ya go:

Thanks. I could read that.

So...his visa wasn't denied because of the country he was born in, rather because he did not demonstrate that denying his entry would cause undue hardship, that his entry would not pose a threat to national security or public safety, and/or that his entry would be in the national interest of the United States.

I don't see anything wrong with this. Seems the government has ended "come on in!!" in favor of "what's in it for us and why should we trust you?" Evidently, he was unable to satisfy those questions.

Wasn't that the mindset behind the iron curtain?

My, how a few short decades changes things. The US was supposed to be the leader of the free world. Now we are emulating the policies of those whose tyrannical and isolationist worldviews we were supposedly fighting. Weird. And ironic.

Yeah, I guess a PhD candidate from the UK attending a scientific conference could be a real threat.

I mean...someone might LEARN something!

Are you saying it is not possible that he is a threat?

Re: This is the result of the ‘travel ban’.

There is more terrorist activity and terrorist threats from alt-right and white racist groups in this country than there are from Islamic terrorists. So it is possible all white guys are a threat. What policy do you propose to keep us safe from them?

By definition, goof, ignorant people are "uniformed" .

The travel ban allows for us, these united states to protect it's citizens until we figure out how to vet people better from countries that can't vet their own peoples. I see nothing wrong with that. You apparently do since you have taken up the call of this one poor individual who since now has been barred from the US, you feel has hurt this country beyond repair.

That is a lie. It has been shown that they count any crime involving a white nationalist as a hate crime including petty theft and resisting arrest. So no. the threats are not more, that is a lie.

When you quote somebody, try to answer the question they pose, please.

Re: This is the result of the ‘travel ban’.

Just a single datapoint, but it’s been replicated hundreds of not thousands of times.

A PhD student traveling to the US from London for a scientific conference is refused a visa.

Because of the country he was born in.

Does anyone feel safer?

These kinds of things will just drive investment and talent and brains outside of the US.

Then again, the Trumpettes probably are happy that less scientific activity will happen in the US.

"Where was ya bohrn?"

And, here I always wondered if maybe I wasn't being too hard on our nation's rednecks. Damn. They are even more stupid than I ever imagined.

Why do you hate cops and firefighters so much?

Protecting us from scientists attending scientific conferences based on what country they were born in is sure gonna Make America Great Again.

Thank god we have patriots like you, both uniformed and uninformed, to protect us from knowledge and progress.

yes, I served in uniform, unlike you. thanks for asking.

Yes this country is doomed, because a CT tech cant come to a science convention. /facepalm

Re: This is the result of the ‘travel ban’.

When you quote somebody, try to answer the question they pose, please.

The answer is that if you want to stop anyone who is a potential threat from entering the country, then you have to stop all entries into the country. Ridiculous policy.

"It has been shown"? By whom? Certainly not the FBI.

FBI considers white supremacist groups as much of a threat as Isis | The Independent

This guy would agree.

Re: This is the result of the ‘travel ban’.

Oh noes, one entitled student cant attend a science conference, the USA IS DOOMED!
What an ignorant statement. What makes him “entitled”? Ah that’s right, right wingers despise academia and the educated..

shrug...

One would think a PhD candidate would be able to satisfy a government bureaucrat who is complying with government regulations. Obviously this PhD candidate couldn't.

Re: This is the result of the ‘travel ban’.

LAFFRIOT.

YEah , so much talent and investment comes from Iran, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, Chad and North Korea/ what will do? Where we get all our scientist and Nobel Prize winners from?

A lot of terrorists have bachelor degrees and higher ; some have even attended prominent colleges.

An War Alwiki ( spelling ? ) --- now decreased Is just one of many - many examples.

Computer science - chemistry - Chemical Engineering - engineering - drafting ..... And ect - ect. Bad guys are educated. They are either terrorists who get educated , or recruited and radicalized in college.

It's simple. Carry a gun - and don't trust anyone !

"Finally, they observed that two-thirds of the 25 terrorists involved in the planning and hijacking of the four aircraft on September 11th 2001 had attended university and that two of the 79 had earned PhD degrees while two others were enrolled in doctoral programs. "

Uh - huh.

That's why I trust me.... And my Glock 23 ( 40 Cal ) .... Loaded with 180 grain hollow points. It's like a Visa card ; I don't go no where without it.

The attack that happens - is the one you don't know about; that you could have prevented . So when the time comes --- you must have the equipment and ability to repel boarders..
