This cop is awesome. A manager guy makes a complaint against a person filming in public and calmly exercising his freedom of speech and freedom of religion in a public park... the manager lies and says the guy is shouting... and the cop comes up calmly, knows there is nothing he can really do nor does he want to violate rights. They chat for a few minutes and asks if the subject guy has any questions and then the cop goes and tells the manager that the guy has every to do what he is doing,. Whole interaction takes about 3 minutes. The cop never becomes the ass that we so often see, demanding ID, threatening arrest for filming in public, etc etc etc. Cop is great and moves on.

To all that call me a cop hater, you can shove it. I love cops... good cops. They ****ing rule.

:)

Yay. You posted just one video of a cop you like amongst the dozens of others. Way to give it the old college try.

Bodi, this video likely represents 95% or more of how these incidents on filming in public are handled by the police, so no reason to believe this officer's handling of this was out of the ordinary

95% of the incidents that we see on video are of cops being bad.

Here is an entire CHANNEL I found in about 2 seconds of incidents where cops are not "acting a fool" (is that still the cool way of saying it?). Cops doing their jobs, period. It isn't the only one either. I found it in about 2 seconds. You're clearly ONLY looking for the others.

There are some good cops here and there, scattered about.

Cops have the power of life and death, imprisonment, jail, physical harm and monitory penalties. The way that our current laws work, once you are deemed a criminal, it is hard to find work or at least a decent paying job.
They are given the power to break laws and with Qualified Immunity, can violate your civil rights and get away with it penalty free.

I don't care about some cops who do the right thing. That's the base expectation. It's like praising a child for just showing up to school.

I care about bad cops who get "blue line privilege", are protected by their unions and fellow officers, who when caught, don't face consequences...or if they do get fired, start all over again with a clean record in a different jurisdiction.
And there are a lot of bad cops out there.

Court Jester claims 5% of law enforcement are bad. That's about 35,000 cops in the US who have the ability and the motivation to do great harm to the citizens of this country. That's a problem.

Good cop. No issue. Recognizes peoples rights.
