This Foreign Aid Agency Locked Its Doors To Keep DOGE Out. Now We Know Why

We aren't talking about a charity and we aren't allowing deflections to Trump.

Rejected.

Bye.
And you don’t get to decide what is allowed or not.

You are dismissed.

A USAID employee responsible for overseeing agency contracts created a fictitious company to illegally obtain coronavirus relief funds for personal gain, federal prosecutors announced Friday.

“Yusuf Akoll worked as a Senior Procurement Contract Specialist at the U.S. Agency for International Development,” according to a previously unreported court document. “From at least in or around March 2021, and continuing through at least in or around August 2021, Akoll [made] materially false, fictitious, and fraudulent statements…that resulted in Akoll receiving two [Paycheck Protection Program] loans totaling approximately $16,666 that he was not entitled to receive.”

Prosecutors allege that in November 2020, Akoll registered a company in Virginia named Naagode Consulting LLC and then applied for a Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan under the federal COVID-19 relief program. He claimed to be employed by Naagode and stated the funds were needed to avoid layoffs.

Who cares which websites Dave Van Zandt thinks are biased or not? Do you think because he created his own website that he's the authority on bias?

Many here think Mediabiasfactcheck is some magic silver bullet that automatically discredits an article you don't like without you ever showing if anything is inaccurate.

NOt if they were kicking back money to themselves. The democrats are scum and don't mind taking our tax dollares to enrich themselves and friends. HOw anyone can defend this is beyond belief.
The FAO has existed in both Dem and Republican administrations, you do realize ?

Congress appropriated the spending. If Trump’s mafia thugs try to come in and break the law, locking the doors is the right thing to do.
How many times does this need to be gone over?

Congress appropriates money in general. Agencies, usually decide how/where/when to spend it. If that process is corrupt in the practice of the how/when/why, what difference does it make to you (or me) that 'Congress appropriated it'?

???

Civil disobedience?

Stealing taxpayer money?

And YOU approve of it?

I'm not surprised.
Independently corroborated evidence, or just a right-wing report from a less than reliable far-right source?

I realize MAGA has a hard time with reality being unable to be changed on a whim, but Trump’s not allowed to rewrite the law.

DOGE, (not a real government department) is accountable to NO ONE.
In the annals of "what could go wrong" this one stand out.

What we need is for existing government to work.
Not be destroyed, torn down, fired, or filled with sycophants and partisan supporters.
There are committees in Congress that have been designated to do exactly what DOGE pretended it was doing. Look for wasteful spending, fraud, or abuses of taxpayer dollars.

DOGE simply slashed and burned, selectively, at Trump's behest. No efficiency improvements, no waste, fraud or abuse. Just burning down the house.

When your starting premise is wrong, not only is there no argument you can make, continuing to make the same foolish one isn't a good look.
