Does Jordan succeed in turning any no votes?

If he doesn’t have a lock, why go through this foolishness? Who benefits from another or worse loss? If they are going to continue, there need to be back-to-back votes instead of dragging this process out any longer, imo.
 
I am going to predict there will be 29 votes for "Others".

I think many of the Reps are getting tired of looking like fools and want a way out but first they have to get Jordan to understand he will never be speaker.

I'm hoping for a rout with 35+ voting "Other" and maybe one or two not voting at all which changes the calculation of a simple majority.

So many Republican initiatives are nothing more than kabuki - like endless Benghazi “investigations”.

This might lead to an ”I told you so!” moment in Jordan’s life.

He is evidently still hoping that his “pressure campaign” will result on votes being changed. Will the death threats against the holdouts work?
 
This is just so funny. The GOP is finally facing the consequences of letting Trump take over the party. Every single attempt at electing a speaker is funnier than the last.

One might argue that they finally faced the consequences of giving the Party to the LOSER Trump when he LOST his last election. Or perhaps when his endorsements fell flat on their faces, and they failed to take the Senate in the midterms.

But alas, the GOP seems to be ineducable.

Not sure how many it took for him, but it took them 15 tries last time to elect someone. And I thought that was as hilarious a display of ineptitude as was possible. But then voting him out and going into this process a second time? My god. The GOP has outdone themselves. The Onion must be firing writers left and right.

They seem intent to continue down this road until they are a nationally irrelevant political party.

The problem is they are playing chicken with the "blow up the government" wing of the Republican Party. I'm not sure how you win that contest.
 
McCarthy is giving the Jordan nominating speech, the House has become more and more like the body it was modeled on, the UK Parliament. Lotta cat calls and guffaws…..

Makes me wonder how important it is to have a Speaker. Only thing they can't do is spend money. I think.
 
Jordan should be a shoo-in if the body believes McCarthy!

It has certainly turned ugly with the vicious calls and death threats being made.

Part of the MAGAt legacy that may be with us forever.
 
The GOP will get no respect until it kicks Trump and his cronies to the curb.

Jordan needs to stop trying to get the speakership and he needs to be removed from office.

As a result of these behaviors, GQP will not be keeping the house next year. They know this.
