There is a western fantasy that is a paranoid view of Muslims. And it's incredibly projecting. It's seeing Muslims as some sort of barbaric religious fanatics who want to kill everyone who isn't their religion and even many who are. A danger to the world, leading to the only 'solution' to the danger being to kill them, dehumanizing them.
It's incredibly at odds with the truth IMO, and typically of such warped views, uses fallacies like false generalization - find one Muslim person who does something, it proves the point. Actually Muslim people generally seem to be especially 'nice' and peaceful - but westerners don't realize that view is because THEY are the ones who are dangers to Muslims and that view helps them see it as justified.
Think for a moment about the idea of people who claim their religion has them given divine right to land - the Americans came close with "Manifest Destiny" to take North America. Usually conquerors just take land, no explanation needed, but imagine them adding the religious claim - whether the US, Muslims, or the Zionists, etc.
Muslims don't have that. However the current countries are set up, and some are now effectively Muslim - such as Saudi Arabia or Iran - they aren't out saying other lands they don't hold were given to them in their religion to justify them attacking the people on those lands to take them. I can't think of anyone in the world who has that except Zionists. Putin pines for empire - but doesn't base it on religion.
If a group of Muslims said their religion gave them, say, New York and their country's top goal was to constantly try to attack and oppress and ethnically cleanse New York until it was theirs, how would we look at that? Yet that is what Zionists are doing.
But it's even worse than that - actual Jewish scholars debunk the claim, pointing out that Zionists are misusing their religions for an incorrect claim all to justify their violent colonialism.
It's crazy - and it's basically terrorist colonialism based on saying "it's ok because the Holocaust". And worse, if you oppose the terrorist colonialism, you are "anti-Semitic". Actual Semites - not the European Zionists - oppose the Zionists largely, and are supposedly also anti-Semitic. Like I said, it's crazy.
We do need to address fanatical, dangerous people harming others - but that group is Zionists, and Americans who bak them because of either their own religious fanaticism or cynical empire motives, far more than Muslims. I haven't yet seen this discussion but it's about the topic.
