Thieves target Home Depot in California, making off with hammers, crowbars and other tools

I really don't read or watch much "news". That said, California has no monopoly on "smash and grab" crimes. When I worked retail years ago, I actually wondered why there wasn't more of it. With the advent of the internet, it is easy enough for groups to communicate their plans for what time, what store, etc. The only thing that will stop this is the same internet policing these conversations.

A second way, and what I expect will eventually happen, is stores will restrict entry with either a club card type system or a register your credit card at the door like motels do. High end stores will probably go to chaining down and not displaying merchandise.

I'd really rather discuss how to combat these issues, rather than sitting around placing blame. I truly would hate to see all shopping online.
It's become more of a thing.
You won't be able "combat these issues" unless you recognize it doesn't happen everywhere and determine why that is. "Placing blame" helps.

It was stated that "smash and grabs don't happen in Texas". Implying that (criminals don't **** around in Law and order Texas) that's horseshit.
It happens in other States but the common denominator seems to be larger cities.
You have to then determine the common denominator among those larger cities.
Who are the Mayor, District Attorney, Police Commissioner, and governing Party.
Be interesting to see how that would play out.

Have you checked the crime rate for cities with republican mayors? Do you think urban crime somehow magically drops or ceases because the guy running the show has an R by his name?

No homeless in Texas, no opioid crisis in Texas, no covid, no murders, or rapes. Everyday is a beautiful day everywhere in Texas.

Get with the program dude!
I'm trying to, but the data keeps tugging my leg and keeps mentioning that Texas has a higher per capita rate than some of those "Liberal hell holes".
;)

It Home Depot's fault for having a store in California. If all the retailers shut down in California then this wouldn't happen. They shouldn't be there so it's their fault. Any retail business in California is knowingly, willfully and deliberately soliciting such criminality (and corresponding violence and murder) - meaning it's their fault. Home Depot is entirely to blame for this. Just like Rittenhouse was responsible because he shouldn't have been there. Any victim of violence in California is responsible for the violence because they shouldn't have been in California.

These small potato thefts make the headlines on the right-wing news pages while they ignore billions in theft by corporations and hedge funds.

Yeah, it outrageous that rightwing outlets talk about Biden's promises to billionaires, tax cuts for billionaires, hanging out with billionaires and billion dollar bribes thru his son. They should be furiously attacking victims because it is the victim's fault for being there. If Home Depot wasn't there, this wouldn't have happened.

The way Democratic states deal with crime statistics is legalizing crime and educating people to not even bother to call the police. Why call the police in Chicago or San Francisco or Milwaukee? All you are doing is inconveniencing yourself for nothing.

@Roadvirus put smash and grab in quotation marks like it is a new fad with a new name the cool kids came up with.

😄

^^ This is just another example of how...

The left continuously mock and ridicule crime, police, citizens, victims of crime, poverty, drug addiction, homelessness, and every other social ill in an attempt to make it common; or really just to normalize the behavior. They offer nothing but excuses, and the occasional solutions that that mostly involve coddling criminals or just not prosecuting them at all.

They want less justice, less prison, less accountability, and more misery for the American taxpayer.

Their policies are a cancer; a toxic poison intended to kill everything it touches.

These small potato thefts

^^ How to downplay nationwide smash-and-grab wilding.

The interesting thing about this particular crime is the tools they targeted and stole.

It's clear this is just the beginning. The Democrat Party ****ed up by getting in bed with left-wing terrorists.

Yes, they are so cruel to victims of violent crime.

They brush off the robberies (in which the clerk is also often killed), innocent Asian and Jewish people being smashed in the face on the street or public transportation, mass looting of a person's livelihood, rape, and murder.

They are interested only in alleged police misconduct toward young gentlemen.

The only hope is that Americans make the right decisions in November of next year, as they recently did in Virginia and nearly did in New Jersey.

I think it’s obvious to anyone except the most deluded individuals that leftist policies are an epic fail, both on a local level and nationally.

You talk too much and say nothing. Congratulations, you should be proud of yourself.

The wilding has just started; assaults and murders during the commission of these crimes are right around the corner.

Biden's America and Democrat cities are descending into chaos.
This mass shop lifting is the fault of liberal policies on crime. When you tell the country you aren't prosecuting crimes worth less than $1,000 what do you expect? How the hell do people keep electing folks who support these fool policies.

Violence and lawlessness is to be expected for the foreseeable future thanks to Trumpism.

You can't preach hate from the balcony of the white house for 4 years and have violence in the streets.

You're right. It's happening in Chicago too.
And there was one in Minnesota last night i believe.

Whataboutism spill in aisle 5

^^ Part of a disinformation campaign

This is how the left openly disregards facts and lies about their failed cities and policies.

The guy with the McDonalds Happy Meal law degree is facing a recall threat.
I read that on their first try, the recall organizers failed to get enough citizens to sign the petition.

They promised to try again.

I hope so.

But Los Angeles is now a very liberal city.

So he may be safe.

*****

I have read the attempt to recall the district attorney in San Francisco has scared him into promising to stop the mass looting.

It’s becoming organized crime.

The organized crime of people joining together to smash and grab stuff?

They better get you on the case immediately. This seems like 1 group covering all 50 states and acting on the same MO.

First, they smash, then they grab stuff. Obviously a conspiracy is afoot.

😁
