They killed Bob.

Lol... yeah, that's wild, I've seen this before.

Not sure if they're good eating or not... unlikely, given that they're carp. They'd make good fertilizer though.

They're not bottom feeder carp. They're filter feeders. I cooked some fish nuggets off a large one at a fish fry, and everyone who sampled it, liked it. Snow white, flaky meat.

The problem is as stated in the video. The fillets are ridden with y bones. I got around that by throwing out all the fillet except the top couple inches. Since the fish I started with weighed about 40 pounds, I still ended up with a couple pounds of fish nuggets once the part I kept was chunked up.

Cool, didn't know there was carp you could eat.

.I bet there's a YouTube video somewhere showing how to clean them. I used to get so mad at how when I had catfish at a restaurant it was so good, but when I cleaned them they tasted like ass. Watched a video on how to clean them, realized I was missing trimming a particular kind of fat, and it solved the problem instantly. Youtube is my university... lol :)

YouTube is actually where I got the idea for how to clean them. Fillet them as normal, and then cut off the top few inches of the fillet- just above the y bones- and keep that. Bury the rest in the garden or something.

I used to have big fish fries...everyone raved about how good was the fish, which were catfish I caught on various rivers and lakes. Channels and blues. It did taste just about like some of the best restaurant catfish I've had. But I like restaurant catfish, and find it difficult to eat the catfish I've caught and prepared. I can't quit thinking about cleaning them, while I'm eating them. Psychological failing of some sort. I'm sure actual hunger would cure the problem.

I’m so pissed about this. I’ve seen this goat on a couple of occasions including earlier this year. He was something of a local celebrity and survived for years on his own but couldn’t survive incompetent humans. Thanks for nothing Texas Parks and Wildlife.
That is so sad. Unpreparedness, incompetence?

No he did not deserve to be strangled. Did I imply that? I'm just saying he needed to be relocated to somewhere that Bob couldn't be a patriarch of a clan.
Do you not understand what I'm saying about introducing species into the wild?
Good point.
