From the article:

"While Democrats have gerrymandering power in far fewer places this year, they’ve also shown a willingness to use their scalpel where they have control in places such as Illinois and Oregon."

"In 2019, the US supreme court said there was nothing federal courts could do to stop partisan gerrymandering."

So, both parties do it - based on who happens to be in power in the states...and there's nothing the US Supreme Court is going to do about it.

And in Illinois, a Black group and Latino group both joined Republicans in suing the Democrats over it.

We the people have no shame. In order to form my kind of union, we use and take advantage of any possible scrap of power we can muster to trounce the opponents.
We the people have no shame. Fairness is lost to us. Equity is for suckers. If the SCOTUS doesn't forbid it, then it's fair game, and still very very unfair. We are not much concerned with what is just or right, we just want to win. And this is the system that allows us to do that.

I don't care who's doing it with all this partisan wrangling that allows everyone to continue by saying "Oh well they did it too!" it needs to stop, period.

It's blatantly anti-democratic and no one should defend it, ever.

Two states Biden won, WI and GA will have congressional delegations wildly lopsided in the Republicans favor. That's just wrong.

Its truly the end of democracy as they literally cannot be voted out.

Hypocrisy, like MD Givernor Hogan always bitches about it in MD, but as head of the governor's conference, I don't think he ever brought it up.

I don't know as though anyone, anywhere is defending it.

But this is, sadly, what happens every X number of years. New lines are drawn by the party in power in states...and typically to the advantage of the party in power in those states.

Do you have a suggestion as to how to end it?

The Right hates democracy.
And what's your opinion of this:

The four options, released late Tuesday by the Maryland Legislative Redistricting Advisory Commission, redraw the state’s eight sprawling and tentacled congressional districts, which favor Democrats and have been labeled among the nation’s most gerrymandered.

He doesn't care. He only appears in these forums to make broad, sweeping, and baseless accusations.

For example, "The Right hates democracy."

Hell, at least Biden won the estate.

Well go on, look for yourself how partisan gerrymandering is ruining democracy in America.

Gerrymandering in one of the worst things that goes on in politics and it needs to be stopped by any legal means necessary

also lets not kid ourselves, while Republicans are "currently" the most guilty of this (because they would get elected a lot less probably" this is a political thing, not right or left . . .the left has most certainly done its hare over the years and throughout history

They've been playing catch-up. In part because they control less states.

There is an added concern, however. We now know that the GOP has an appetite for throwing a presidential election that they lost to the House of Representatives where their unrepresentative , gerrymandered representatives can declare the winner, no matter which party holds the House.

btw: Steps to end partisan gerrymandering are contained within the two voter rights bills that the Senate Republicans are blocking via the filibuster.
