“These, and other such Cities, are the core of the Democrat Power Center, where they use Illegal Aliens to expand their Voter Base, cheat in Elections, and grow the Welfare State, robbing good paying Jobs and Benefits from Hardworking American Citizens,” Trump claimed. “These Radical Left Democrats are sick of mind, hate our Country, and actually want to destroy our Inner Cities — And they are doing a good job of it! There is something wrong with them.”

It is no use in arguing with deranged lunatics like Mr. Trump. We have a sitting President openly using the levers of government to target the opposition. Is there any way to reason with this belligerence? The only thing this authoritarian will understand is defiance to the point of incivility. This is a touchstone moment in American history, I do believe. Where we go from here is up to the citizens of this country. Do we roll over and accept fascist dictatorship or, do we fight for the American ideals we grew up with?

I keep asking "who's going to stop him?" There will come a time when real Americans will have to.

I completely stopped trying to convince my brother of anything. I accept the fact that he is a MAGA collaborator. **** MAGA.

There is no reasoning with a dictator, a king. That's what "no guardrails" meant. That's what the SCOTUS decision last July meant. That's what Project 2025 means. That's what TACO's fawning over Putin, Orban, Jong Un has always displayed.

That's what MAGA knowingly voted for...even after TACO's false elector scheme in 2020. They need to be led, they want that iron-fisted guidance. Obeying then relieves them of responsibility and brings them security...and makes them feel superior over non-MAGA. It's their sad "riding on the coat-tails" of being important.

The subjects do not question the king.

This is why I switched my focus to having fun on this forum. Long gone are the days that people will listen to reasonable discussion so I see no reason to waste my effort on that.

On the contrary, the only think that will further empower this authoritarian is a reduction in civility. He desperately wants incivility, and will do anything to provoke it, including putting the military into our streets, and enlisting agents provocateur. The less civil our opposition, the greater excuse he has to invoke martial law. Public demonstrations can grow until they grind things to a halt, without ever losing civility.

Power and wealth rule everything in America. Trump currently has both. People are going to courts to try to stop things but these always happen after.

Which American ideals are you suggesting we fight for?
