The US needs to stop its own killing of children

In Ukraine, war criminal Putin is slaughtering innocent people. We see the news and the pictures of children killed by his barbarity. Putin is doing it because he can, because he has the military power.

The national wealth of Afghanistan has been stolen - by the US. When the national wealth of a poor nation is stolen, children are horrifically killed, by malnutrition and similar. 13,000 newborns were reported just killed by malnutrition because of the US's theft. You do NOT hear about and see the pictures almost at all in the news. The US steals this money and kills these children just because we can, because it has the institutional power.

Put the innocent children killed by Putin side by side with the innocent children killed by the US. Right now. Compare the media coverage - and the resulting different in the views of the American people - just as you can see most of the Russian people unconcerned with the war in Ukraine because of how THEIR media covers it.

Too many Americans take the view, 'if we don't like the Taliban, we can do anything we want'. Does that apply to Russians feeling that way about Ukraine's pro-west leadership? To China's views of Taiwan?

If we determine that the money would largely be used for the benefit of the Afghan people, especially, the US needs to end its theft and give Afghanistan its money and stop killing innocent people. How is that not clear as we watch Ukraine?

It's pretty bad. Though I will say how Biden has handled the portion of the funds that have been unfrozen so far is pretty good; giving them directly to grassroot on the ground orgs to make sure the funds actually help the people there and not the Taliban.

Part of the famine is caused by US sanctions though, which we should remove. Really we should be providing humanitarian aid to Afghanistan as we are partially responsible for their food insecurity.

It's cute that you think the Taliban would use that money to feed the children, or that they even could.
