The ULTIMATE, FINAL Trump VP selection poll: Who will he pick this weekend or on Monday ?

?

  • James David Vance

  • Marco Antonio Rubio

  • Douglas James Burgum

  • Glenn Allen Youngkin

  • Benjamin Solomon Carson

  • Another man (post)

  • A woman (post)

  • I really don't care.

Results are only viewable after voting.
My favorite wildcards are DeSantis, Haley, Youngkin, and Tom Cotton. Gabbard too, but I agree too many of her core beliefs compared to Trump's, could be problematic.

I'd be quite pleased with any of the 4 I listed in my first sentence, but pretty darn thrilled with a DeSantis pick. He sure couldn't campaign, but he seems to be solid in getting things done. One thing about Trump choosing DeSantis would be he'd have someone who would never overshadow him in the charisma department. DeSantis would much prefer to be working more quietly and effectively and not being the face of the pair.
Good points. One thing pointed to me was if Rubio is picked Desantis would pick his replacement. You know he would do the right thing. Who is the Lt Gov of Florida? Are they reliable?

I just admire Tulsi for speaking her mind and, unlike the other Dems, seeing the things they do are wrong.

What I think is that Trump won't name anyone this weekend or Monday. He'll wait as long as possible.

Yeah, DeSantis would pick the Rubio replacement. But I kind of wonder if maybe DeSantis would take that Rubio Senate spot. DeSantis could accomplish that by resigning which would mean his Lt. Governor would take over as Governor. Her last name is Nunez and from my google search, it sounds like she and DeSantis work very closely together as a team and he is a big supporter of her. Anyway, she would take over his Governor position which is term limited in Jan of 2027 at which point she'd have to run for the position. And as soon as she DeSantis stepped down and she took over as Governor, it would be her responsibility to appoint someone to Rubio's seat - and she could appoint DeSantis.

All just my pondering about the ramifications of a potential Rubio VP pick.

And don't forget about Byron Donalds, as a House member from Florida. I could imagine he could come into play within a shifting of positions within Florida.

Tim Scott PLEASE

that takes 30-40% of black votes from Democrats
The fantasies expressed on this board are quite entertaining. Tim Scott on Trump's ticket changes nothing about Trump or his agenda. Perhaps you just think the black community is that shallow?

I have two choices.
It's a toss up between Rubio and Vance.
Its not a toss-up. Rubio is problematic as he is also from Florida. Its Vance or Burgum; likely the latter as he is a suck-up that poses no threat to Trump.

I think Rubio makes for a better open Senate seat scenario than Vance does. Because in Ohio, DeWine is the governor, and he might not be nearly as reliable in choosing a really good replacement senator as DeSantis would be. And I think DeWine is term limited in 2026 and I think the Vance replacement would have to face a special election. I'm not certain about that but I was reading about it all just last night and there seemed to be a much stronger reason to keep the Vance seat filled as is compared to keeping the Rubio seat filled as is. And one would think all that would matter to Trump since he hopes to be serving as president in 2026 and he wouldn't like seeing that Ohio Senate seat flip blue.

There is no way the same state thing hasn't been figured out adequately by Trump's legal team. Rubio has been in the top 3 or 4 for many weeks, even months, now. He wouldn't be among that group if they hadn't determined what state Rubio would establish residence in, in order to make it work out. And Rubio doesn't even need to live in FL to serve as a Senator from FL, so a Rubio family move doesn't even mean Rubio would have to give up his Senate seat unless and until Trump won. It's simply an obstacle which needs some action to be taken by one of the two on the ticket - but that action can easily and legally be taken.

Most of us here have moved from one state to another at some point in our lives. It's not complicated to change state residency.

For the record, I said it was problematic, not impossible. I did not realize that you could be a Senator from Florida without being a resident. If that is true, it certainly makes it less problematic. That said, he is very unlikely to pick Rubio because
Rubio could also be a threat to him....

Yes, you only need to be a resident of the state you are serving as a Senator from, when you are first elected.

why do you think Biden selected Kamala? promised to put a black woman on the Supreme Court ?

It doesn't matter.

Which ever one would have helped Trump steal the election on January 6 will be his choice. Pence failed to put Trump above country. Trump won't make that mistake again.

Trump's entire goal will be to fill every position with unqualified yes-men, who will rid him of all legal troubles, allow him to fully use the idea that immunity means that he is, indeed, above the Constitution and what it dictates; and all of this will increase corruption due to wide-spread incompetency.

I highly doubt he wants that. Someone has to run the business.
He has three children old enough for the office of VP, right, do any of those three live outside Florida?

If he chooses one of the three he has two others to play the role of handling the family corporation.

He never really stepped down and divested from his businesses in the last term, he sure wouldn't have any reason to do this time around.

Ok so? Just because you think it, doesn't make it true. And I say that with all due respect.

This is an issue with the current election. People think this, therefore it is so, but in reality, it's not the case. I think Joe has cognitive issues, and visual evidence agrees, however I may be wrong.

This morning, I'm hearing chatter that Glen Youngkin has been added to Trump's shortlist.

No objections from me if this is true, and he is chosen as Trump's VEEP.
I always thought he had a good future at a higher level of government. He's a lighter version of Trump, and more of a pragmatist. I like him.

Of course, it would also great if Trump were to win VA.

I'm ok with that. Politically, it makes more sense in regard to the election.

So do I.

But there is also such visual evidence against Donald Trump.

We the people have given ourselves quite the choice, haven't we?

Maybelline Man J.D. Vance is my latest pick (though it seems a bit too easy at this point).

It would be so typically Trump to pull out a dark horse in the eleventh hour if it's true Youngkin is now on his short list. In fact, the leftist media hasn't had a chance to pick his bones a part like they have all the other prospects. We shall soon see. :)

I've said all along he could pick a wild card and fool us all.
