For the last 6 years the Democrats have been the true party of no. It was either their way or the highway. With Trump elected president and a Republican Senate and House also elected the Democrats now have the opportunity to prove to America that they are not the party of no and will accept the mandate of the American people. Can they do it or will they remain the party of no and continue to be the true obstructionists?

This is the most warped view of reality I have seen recently. There is nothing wrong with accepting the fact that Republicans wanted to stop anything Obama put forward. They literally said as much. Will the Democrats try to stop Trump from slashing the taxes of the wealthy or nationalizing stop and frisk? They better.

They haven't set as their main goal making Trump a one-term president, at least not yet. We'll see.

If you want to see the true party of corruption, destructiveness, chaos, and vandalism, just take a look at Portland, Oregon.

exaggerating a bit? the will of the People was for the Woman.

We are getting, the will of the Electors and not the Electorate of the United States.

While that is true and applies to Obama's first TWO years, since 2010 Republicans have been in control of both the Senate and the House, elected by the will of the people and yet Obama, while touting the fact that he won the election in 2008, refused to accept that the will of the people duly elected Republicans to be in control of 2/3rd's of the government in 2010. The people have been in favor of Republican policies, not Democratic ones in these last six years and Obama's refusal to understand that has caused the people to stand up and vote Republicans to be in total control of the country. For the last six years the Democrats have been the true party of no and now they have the opportunity to prove to America that they are not the party of no. Your own post proves that you favor being the party of no.

Those touting the "will of the people" better revisit the current Congressional approval ratings.

(HINT: They are FAR lower than national approval ratings for Obama)

I don't really know what that means. Both parties hope that the other will be a one term president. I don't remember a bunch of protests all over the country after Obama was elected saying that he is not our president. Maybe I just forgot but it seems that all of these liberal Democratic protesters are clearly saying that they want Trump to be a one term president and that is their goal.

Once more, I see facts aren't important. Not surprising.

Once more, you say things which simply are not true.

Republicans did not take control of the Senate until 2015. That means Democrats held Senate and Presidency from 09 until 15.

It really bothers me how easily people can post untruths and live with themselves.

In modern politics there is rarely a party of yes, unless they pass an 'everyone gets what they want' spending bill.

I don't recall protests either. I do recall republicans in Congress declaring their main goal making Obama a one-term president, and saying they would oppose anything he tried to do.

Why do I have the feeling that you'll be totally fine with an "obstructionist" minority party where you lamented it before? OP is asking of the Dems will do something different than what they criticized the Repubs for.

Will you expect "better" or different from the Dems or will you justify it in your mind if they act the exact same way they condemned Repubs for?

It isn't their's to make Trump a one term President.

Yeah. Railing against reality gets you nowhere.

I don't expect any better from the Democrats no, but we'll see. They may just prove me wrong. What do you think they will do?

What big legislation have Republicans actually put forward since 2010 that Democrats have said no to? The major things I can think of were issued in anticipation of 2012, and Obama's win kind of settles the public's view of those.

Control=/ will of the people. I believe the american people placed more votes in 2012, and will in 2016 for a Democrats in the house.

..and the Dems were every bit as adamant about stopping any proposals put forth by the Reps. How many bills died on Harry Reid's desk??

I expect the two parties to obstruct each other. In modern America that's how things work. The two parties are so far apart there is no reason to expect them to come to an agreement over most issues. OP claimed the Dems were the true obstructionists over the past 6 years. He was trying to get his party off the hook.

When Obama was elected it was made public that the plan was to obstruct until he was out of office. Yes, both parties did it, but Reps chose to oppose Obama because he was Obama. They put their party ahead of the country. In response the Dems did the same.

If you want to see the true party of corruption, destructiveness, chaos, and vandalism, just take a look at Portland, Oregon.

From mayors making out with minors in bathrooms, to homosexual counselors taking home minors to let them find out if they really are homosexuals (an investigation that got killed the mayor) to Cylvia's corruption (keep in mind that she's a family friend that I personally like, but who political actions are truly deplorable), to the violent temper tantrums being allowed to escalate FAR beyond reason. Portland is the very definition of loony liberal land.
