memory-hole event in the wild

Apparently, Amazon decided they needed to edit the opening text from Robin Hood (2010)

In times of tyranny and injustice when law oppresses the people, the outlaw takes his place in history

whackedy-crackedy

Google hits for the text from before it was removed

Jeff Bezos knows where his billions are buttered.

Does Amazon have a group that scours their offerings, scrubbing and sanitizing them for dear leader?

I'm sure they do.

I don't think that started with Dear Leader, though. As a bookseller and now streaming site,, they've had issues with content for decades.

Or maybe he just wants people to buy the product, and the woke nonsense kept people from doing so?

I was wondering how long MAGA would take to declare that standing up to tyranny is "woke".

Aren’t there regulations that shield resellers from content issues?

Other than laws banning certain specific type of content, no. Amazon is a private company, so they can choose or refuse to sell whatever they want, write their own descriptions, curate reviews, and so on.

...the message from a 15 year old Robin Hood movie about standing up to tyranny is woke?
Tell us more about this totally legitimate idea you actually hold and are not just lying about.

Who watches a film and notes what the preamble says and then watches again to see that the message has changed?

Where is it written that the rebroadcaster can modify content?

The producers may refuse to allow Amazon to sell their work if it's censored. But that ain't going to happen.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

I'm pointing out that Amazon does write its own descriptions of content it offers. They also block a variety of content from their platform.

And yes, rebroadcasters can modify content. Broadcast TV used to do that all the time. They edited R-rated movies for decades so it could be shown during prime time, remember?
