The Right Are Tolerant, The Left Are Not

^^ Horse shit.

“What a politician believes about the impact of restoring the vote to a convicted felon often depends on which side of the aisle they stand on. A common belief amongst politicians is that felons are liberals who would vote Democratic. A survey of 8,266 prisoners by Slate and The Marshall Project found that convicts’ political views cannot be so easily pigeonholed.

They reported that:

A plurality of white respondents back President Trump, undercutting claims that people in prison would overwhelmingly vote for Democrats.

The survey was inserted into The Marshall Project’s print publication, News Inside. It is distributed to more than 500 prisons and jails in the United States. The respondents racially identified themselves as: White 41%, Black 20%, Latino 14%, Native American 17%, Asian or other races 19%, and 8% did not provide information. Because respondents could choose more than one race, the total percentage exceeds 100%. Among the respondents, 57% said they had never cast a vote.

The survey was distributed in March 2020. Of White respondents, 36% identified as Republicans, 30% Independent, and 18% Democrats. Only 11% of Black respondents identified as Republicans, while 29% identified as Independent and 45% as Democrats.

that survey is a complete joke

plurity does not equal majoirty AND the survey is not accurately portraying the demographics of overall prison population

From the same publication and more recent:
"What studies have been done are estimates based on debatable assumptions or involve samples so small they likely aren't representative. Data that would ordinarily be used, such as exit polling, isn't available."

The actual paper in your link is behind a paywall, and your Washington Examiner article conveniently omits ALL DETAILS on the the survey methods, assumptions, and size. They just give you their (heavily biased) interpretation of the results and you start spreading that stuff around the internet like it's proven fact. If you're this naive, it's actually kind of sad.

Literally every conservative with a liberal friend means a liberal has a conservative friend...
Yes, but it doesn't mean that they are different people.

So if there are 3 Republicans. 1, 2 and 3, and 3 Democrats A, B, and C. Then 1 and 3 can be friends with A, but B and C aren't friends with 1, 2, or 3. In this case 2 out of 3 Republicans have "reached across the isle" and have Democrat allies, where as only 1 out of 3 Democrats have "reached across the isle" and have Republican allies. So it would appear that Republicans are twice as willing to "reach across the isle" than Democrats, even though it's only 1 Democrat who is popular with Republicans.

So it depends on how they tally it. Do they just say Does so-and-so have any friends across the isle. Or do they tally how many friends so-and-so has across the isle.

Comments like this tend to prove OP's point.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but it is NOT liberals (like myself) who are intolerant of blacks, gay people, asians, Muslims, oh the list goes on and on, I wonder which demographic IS intolerant of blacks, gay people, asians, Muslims, etc.
If I am intolerant of bigots, racists, white nationalists (being mindful I am white myself), homophobes, and especially conspiracy theorists, then I won't apologize, because all other races, religions, and sexual orientations are just fine with me.
Got it?

The Marshall Project survey was conducted in March, 2020.

Your Washington Examiner article was published in January, 2014. No idea when the purported study of felon voting in New York, New Mexico, and North Carolina was conducted without paying to view it (have you even seen it?).

Your Washington Examiner article headline claims “Jail survey: 7 in 10 felons register as Democrats” however, in the text of the article those conducting the purported survey are cited as referencing another supposed study “that found 73 percent of convicts who turn out for presidential elections would vote Democrat”.

None of the 3 states cited in WE’s purported studies requires voters to identify with any party, and NY doesn’t include any question or statement affirming felony criminal convictions, so there’s no way of knowing which, if any, parties the felons would vote for.

Unsupported claims on top of other unsupported claims.

The right are tolerant of the left enough to make friends across the political divide. On the other hand, the left are the intolerant and refuse to make friends across the political divide.

Are you having a laugh?
That's the exact opposite of reality.

Mitch McConnell.

Yes, many (not all) leftists are very intolerant because they are so sanctimonious. They really, really, really think they know the truth. So anyone who disagrees with them must be an idiot or a bigot.

Many (not all) people on the right, however, are more tolerant. They feel that people of good will can genuinely have an honest difference of opinion.

*****

I think of President Reagan and Speaker Pelosi.

The former was no doubt on the right. But he was so darn pleasant that people found it hard to "dislike" him.

The latter is no doubt on the left. She is so darn obnoxious (remember her ostentatiously tearing up the State of the Union speech?) that it is easy (very easy) to "dislike" her.

They really, really, really think they know the truth.
climate change? the left knows the truth
vaccines or anything medical science? the left knows the truth
history? the left knows the truth

conspiracy theories? that is the domain of the Right.

Sheesh, on one side you have scientists, medical experts, historians, EDUCATED PEOPLE, and on the other, people who read and listen to rightwing media and consider their views GOSPEL.

Not even comparable!

the right wing isnt tolerant of anyone whos a democrat, they arent tolderant of joe biden winning.

a bully because I told you the way it is?
and you call ME a snowflake?

The next time you tell things the way they are will be the first time. I might live to see it, but I won't hold my breath.

Hell yeah.

Didn't you choose the name because it fit so well?
Actually there IS a reason I picked it, but you would need an imagination and bit of sagacity to figure it out. Should I give you a hint?

Given the lack of reality check in most of your posts, I don't need to guess. I just accept the irony that the name fits well.

That study shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. The intolerance of the left is not only obvious, it's been getting progressively worse over the last several years.

Those on the right see the left as misguided, while the left sees the right as evil.
That explains the whole thing. The right has been getting worse over the past few years with all their cancel culture, Q conspiracy's, insurrections, the acceptance and mingling with white supremacy, and voter restrictions, etc. So it stands to reason the left would become less tolerant. I know I sure am.

the article is right and your wrong
hahaha brilliant argument buddy. Which article? The Washington Examiner article from 2013 which makes general statistical claims without evidence, or the Washington Examiner article from 2 years later which explains that the subject has not been studied thoroughly enough to make general statistical claims?
