The requirement to impeach Trump based on his phone call:

1) Trump is Executive who runs FBI and Justice Department so it his his duty to investigate corruption,

2) There is no personal gain from doing so anymore than there is person gain from an FBI Directer doing corruption investigation.

3) The American people need to know if the Biden family is corrupt before they elect them to high office

4) Trump did not say, deposit $1 billion in my account in return for the missiles or do a fraudulent investigation in return for the missiles. Those would have been* high crimes or misdemeanor.*

5) Democrats investigated Trump from before he was elected until today, but now they object to investigating Biden who had blackmailed the Ukrainians over the missiles and who had the Ukrainian prosecutor fired the day before he was to interview his son???**Clearly, we must impeach Trump as Democrats wish!

Nope. The only requirement has to do with a number of votes in the house for impeachment, and a number of votes in the senate for conviction on those articles of impeachment.

The Senate will not impeach Trump, but enjoy the Democrat **** show, because it's all they're good for.

“China will not interfere in the internal affairs of the US, and we trust that the American people will be able to sort out their own problems," China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi said.

China knows that it's wrong, but Republicans don't.

Hmm... China wants Trump (and his tariffs) gone ASAP and nobody should be surprised at that. Trying to assert that China knows what is wrong or right and acts accordingly is being naive, at best.

Constitution says high crimes. If libcommie Democrats say a phone call was a high crime electorate will destroy them

its so stupid the electorate will punish them for it.

Interference can be very very right like when you interfere with a bullet heading toward you or a mafia Biden family about to be your president.

1) Trump is not in any trouble for asking the US government to investigate Biden - he is in trouble for asking foreign governments to do so.

2) There is personal gain from casting aspersions on a political opponent's character.

3) That may well be, but they should not take the word of some foreign source or the unsubstantiated accusations of his political opponent.

4) It does not matter what Trump offers (or withholds) to get foreign campaign assistance - the act has been made illegal and remains so.

5) pPerhaps, but that does not give Trump special permission to violate US election laws.

We want the truth and could care less where it comes from. Just like Hillary wanted truth from Russian on Trump. See how silly you look??

Mmmhmmm...and what court would overturn a conviction on articles of impeachment if it deemed the conviction not based on "high crimes and misdemeanors"?

The founders weren't as stupid as you wish they were.

.

its 1000% normal for politicians to do it, its the exact opposite of a high crime!!! No one does it more than liberals against Trump. Remember the dossier with prostitutes peeing on a bed that Obama slept in????? See how goofy and shameless you look???

3) That may well be, but they should not take the word of some foreign source or the unsubstantiated accusations of his political opponent.

all agree which is why Trump asked for investigation. How in the world could you not know that????

- the act has been made illegal and remains so.

5) .

dear, you clean forgot to tell us what the act is and why you imagine it is illegal???

dear what election laws and what do you imagine was the violation??? Do you have any idea???

Actually they were very smart and said high crimes, and did not imagine a phone call was a high crime

Your cherry picking is noted. The point was that asking foreign governments to investigate your political opponent (produce "opposition research") violates US election laws. Trump can say whatever nonsense he wishes, but he can't be permitted to break the laws that his political opponents are (supposedly) held to simply because he is the POTUS.

I agree with you that it is silly to assert that Hillary could seek foreign sourced opposition research because she did not do so in person, instead using a law firm to pay a private company to do so on her behalf. That is certainly something that Trump should ask the FEC and DOJ to look into, but not an excuse to do so himself.

What part of my statement confused you?

"High crimes and misdemeanor" had a rather specific meaning back then. It has to do with corruption in obtaining and exercising office. It is not tied to the U.S. code (which did not exist at ratification). They didn't define it since they knew that they didn't define it. They didn't give judicial review. Because they didn't define it and because a court cannot throw out conviction on articles of impeachment, it's a purely political process. The president could be impeached for having a stupid face if the votes were there.

You squawk without meaning.

OMFG...are you serious?

You reply in a separate post to each of his points to try to make it look like you had more (nothing) to say?

no, it would be unconsitutional to impeach for stupid faces rather than high crimes. 1+1=2

The above post retcons history. Presidents most assuredly do not order or oversee investigations.

Also, Trump has only ever ordered investigations into two groups of people thus far:

1)Past or future campaign rivals, and
2)People who have led or participated in investigations on himself, his campaign or his administration.

So the idea that the President's role is to "investigate corruption" demonstrates a gross ignorance of history.

Now of course some idiot will smash "reply with quote" and write "Butwhatabout Obama and Holder?" Okay, what about Obama and Holder? And that idiot will have no intelligent response to that.

More dishonest edits. Why is that a thing you do?

Question, Mr. Scholarman, who would rule that a conviction on articles of impeachment for having a stupid face was unconstitutional?

Careful. If you name a court, you will have said the stupidest thing in all reality.

nobody said they do order overseas investigations!!!! they can ask for them though!
