The Reach of the Spirit of The Lord

But you can legitimately criticize me for mistakenly using ‘not’ twice….not quite sure if that constitutes a sin….:)

As a corrollary to post #49 and the body and the God within: God tells us that the body is holy and sacred….at least as initially being curated in ‘the image and likeness of God’. Read and understand this as sharing the same DNA. Some in Orthodoxy distinguish between image and likeness…..pointing out that all can and are made in the image…..but many can no longer be considered as being in the likeness of God…..speaking a word against the Holy Spirit means corrupting the DNA……and, yes, there is no verse in the Bible about DNA….this comes as a result of what Romans 12:2 tells us.”but be transformed by the renewing of your mind”. The gospel is not ‘one and done’……the saints have their part in clarifying and expanding it IMO……despite any word about not adding or expanding(even though translators have taken this very liberty)……

I feel sorry for you……especially when you have the resource of the Bible and understand so little of the Spirit. Spirituality seems hard for you to accept because it is not given in black and white and written on paper. I will give you a couple of verses to introduce you to the concept of the Spirit and are true revelations.

First in regards to your skepticism of God within: 1 Corinthians 6:19….”Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, WHO IS IN YOU, whom you have received from God ?”

Now for the danger of questioning spirituality: Matthew 12:31-32…..”And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.”

You are on very dangerous ground…..I would suggest repentance…..

Big deal...you feel sorry for me. Really tears me up. I don't feel sorry for you. I am against you.

Why do you give me verses when you don't trust the Bible?

How have I questioned 'spirituality'. I explained it in post #(3). How am I guilty of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit in (Matt. 12). And, again, why do you use these verses against me when you don't trust the Bible.

You can suggest all you want. Your suggestions are worthless. You are but an atheist looking to bash Christianity. And trying to create some 'spiritual air' about you to allow you to do it here.

Gaining and retaining God’s spirit. The holy spirit is God’s “free gift,” which he gladly grants to those who sincerely seek and request it. (Ac 2:38; Lu 11:9-13) A right heart is the key factor (Ac 15:8), but knowledge and conformity to God’s requirements are also essential factors. (Compare Ac 5:32; 19:2-6.) Once received, the Christian should not ‘grieve’ God’s spirit by disregarding it (Eph 4:30; compare Isa 63:10), taking a course contrary to its leading, fixing the heart on goals other than that to which it points and impels, rejecting the inspired Word of God and its counsel and application to oneself. (Ac 7:51-53; 1Th 4:8; compare Isa 30:1, 2.)

By hypocrisy one can “play false” to that holy spirit by which Christ directs the congregation, and those who “make a test” of its power in this way follow a disastrous course. (Ac 5:1-11; contrast Ro 9:1.) Deliberate opposition to and rebellion against the evident manifestation of God’s spirit can mean blasphemy against that spirit, a sin that is unforgivable.—Mt 12:31, 32; Mr 3:29, 30; compare Heb 10:26-31.

If all scripture is profitable…..should we ignore this particular verse ? And are other verses addressed to a specific audience also be taken as being only addressed to that audience ?

You don't believe that. You said Scripture proves nothing. post #(14) Yet you want to use Scripture against the Christian. Oxymoron.

It’s funny when I think about it. It just occurred to me that fundamentalists and atheists share the same mindset. Both only believe in the material world. Fundamentals are openly skeptical about spirituality like you by speaking of ‘pseudo spirituality’ and believing all knowledge is contained in the Scriptures…..which is false according to the Gospel of John. You might admit that people in the Bible were blessed by the Spirit but are critical of the spirituality of others. Atheists like fundamentalists believe only in the material world….seeking proof from science and logic. They are totally forgivable ‘for they know not what they do’. But Christians that belittle the Spirit come under harsh judgment…..no excuse for them.

I give you verses so that by some wild chance you might understand the deeper meaning. It is not an intellectual thing but rather is spiritual. I could give you a parable that clearly demonstrates this type of understanding but your blindness prevents you from seeing that….Matthew 13:13…..

When you say you are ‘against me’ it most likely comes from thr MAGA/evangelical fundamentalist mindset. I am trying to help you but I can see you are not quite ready……transform your mind…..:)

Why does your so-called church believe Christ should be confessed? How am I guilty of blasphemy as in (Matt. 12) as you accused me of? Why don't you answer my questions?

You don't believe the Bible. According to you the Bible can't be trusted. But you want to use it against Christians and quote verses. As I said, oxymoron.

No, I am against you an atheist trying to present yourself as some sort of 'faith' person in order to bash Christians here.

Obviously you have no idea what a confession of faith is. If your church does not confess Christ then it is not Christian would lead me to assume you are Jewish because of your adherence to the OT. It is amusing to hear you talk about belief in the Bible when you have no understanding…..just rote memorization with no translation. I could pick any parable in the Bible and ask you to explain and am certain you could not get beyond the literal. Perhaps you can mature in your faith….I sincerely hope for you…

But, you don't believe the Bible can be trusted. So, what do you base this Confession of Jesus on? Can't be the Bible.

And how am I guilty of blasphemy as described in (Matt. 12).

Your understanding, as confessed by you, is that the Bible can't be trusted. If that is your 'maturity', I want no part of it.

You're a fake, and you know it.

You are such a nag…..persistently obtuse….but here was my confession of faith:

“Do you believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, and do you accept him as your personal Lord and Savior ?”

It was a yes or no question….go ahead and deny the validity of it…..but to do so indicates that you are not Christian, a member of a sect or other religion or perhaps an atheist ? Choose one……

I didn't ask for your confession of faith. I asked you what it is based on? Because you already said the Bible cannot be trusted. post #(14) And you then say your church accepts Christ as Saviour. post #(19).

So what is your faith, based upon? What does your church base confession of Christ upon? And how am I guilty of the sin described in (Matt. 12), as you accuse me of?

As usual you are wrong…..the word ‘trusted’ did not appear in #14…….you doggedly insist on literal belief in the Bible as some marker of being a Christian thus you appear foolish believing in a ridiculous timeline. I trust the Spirit totally…..you trust a book….the book you trust can lead you to the Spirit but one must prove himself worthy of the Spirit…..it is laughable to hear MAGA Christians presenting themselves as born-again Christians….it is an affront to God….

My faith is built on Christ coming from a New Testament church. The creation story is simply an informative myth…..many spiritual truths in it but much of the rest is not defenceable……like you dreaming up stuff about being 900 years old…..at least it provided a moment of levity……:)

You said Scripture proves little or nothing. In other words you do not trust the Bible. Your words.

Well, that is my point. You don't trust the the Book, just like I said, just like you are now saying.

Which brings me back to my questions. Why is your faith based upon the testimony that Christ is Lord and Saviour when you don't trust it? Oxymoron.

No, your faith cannot be in Christ and the New Testament Church becasue that is founded on the Word of God, the Bible. And to you the Bible proves little or nothing.

You're a fake, which is why you make such ridiculous statements.

All we can and must do is to pray for you to free yourself from your self imposed chains……Know the truth and the truth will set you free….it will be liberating and will expose you to much deeper truth….

Bull shit. You already confesed you don't trust the Bible. Now you say you believe the 'symbolic' truth. Let all recognize what you're saying. You're saying your symbolic truth is not what the Bible is saying. Your symbolic truth is only what you're saying, which makes it bullshit.

Pray all you want. Who are you praying to? The God Who reveres His Word above His name. (Ps. 138:2) "...for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name." The God whose Word you mock, the Bible. Yet you want to present yourself as so 'spiritual'. Gag.

As I said, you're a fake. And I have proved it.

It is so simple…..I do not accept the Bible as literal truth. Your literal belief makes you look ridiculous when you speak of dinosaurs. There are literally millions and millions of Christians, if they were being generous, and asked about dinosaurs would say “no comment”….remembering it is a sin to lie. Many many Christians are highly educated but I understand if is not so in your church…..especially if is MAGA infected and their embracing of conspiracy theories….

That's not what you said. You said the Bible cannot be trusted. It proves little or nothing.

Now you act like it's about 'interpretation'. More lies. You want to say your faith is in some spirit god or christ or something, yet the Bible can't be trusted. And the only place you know about faith in Christ is the Bible. Again, Oxymoron.

It is all in your mind……I never uttered the word ‘trusted’…….until now….I trust in you to not understand and can trust that you will not give the verse from the Bible about dinosaurs nor will you find one that informs us of why it was normal to live 900 years. We heard your logic on that but you must have forgotten that all true knowledge must be verified by the Bible. Praying for you takes patience….

Yes you did. You said the Bible proves little or nothing, which means it cannot be trusted. But you then, oxymoronic, base your pseudo faith on the Bible.

You say, 'all true knowledge must be verified by the Bible'. Where do you get this from?
