The problem with religion

We need more Muslims who will look at clear, evil instructions and then be very ambiguous about them. ;)
Yeah, ambiguity is a big part of the answer. I wish more folks would embrace it.

He only meant that we should spiritually kill them.

(That's the standard Christian answer, when cornered by some nastiness or unpalatable passage from the Bible.)
Right, but that's fine. I only care that they ignore the evil bits. If they have to lie to do so, fine by me.

I agree, but I'm not sure I'd call it lying. (But I hardly believe in lying, so....)

I have never seen/heard anyone say such a stupid thing...until now when you did...

Nope. The Arabic word 'qatl' (قتل) is used, and it means fight(physically) and/or kill. Paste that into the translator of your choice. You're either lying or ignorant.

He was being facetious, I think.

George Carlin was comedian, not a funding philosopher.
Thank you for the obvious.
And your last paragraph is total bullshit.A Catholic Priest came up with the Big Bang Theory.
So? What does that have to do with anything? The BBT is supported by objective evidence, not belief. That's why it is generally accepted within the scientific community.

Sure you have. You just never noticed. It's common in Christian apologetics.

lol...I'm quite sure I would call what you said lying...
Of course you are. There's nothing ambiguous about your thought.

(Sorry, but it's so.)

You're confused. Don't believe everything you read in a dictionary.

I'm way smarter than you are. It's obvious.

No...I haven't and no Christian would state such because the only ability a human has is to take another human's physical life...only God can do both...it is only God who is able to destroy a person’s soul/prospects for life or who can resurrect him to enjoy everlasting life...

"And do not become fearful of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather, fear him who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna." Matthew 10:28

Nope. It's a 'must do' if you want to reap the rewards offered to those who obey. Of course Muslims can decline as long as they don't mind spending eternity "having their skins roasted through and replaced so that they can experience God's punishment forever" (or words to that effect)
Being a dick is a personal choice. Being an Islamic terrorist is too. One must choose to follow the dictates in the Qur'an to fight and kill "fee sabil Allah (in the cause of God)".
I am impressed. You do not move the goal post so much as own both goal posts.

Sorry, but you're not going to get away with pre-emptively saying that the answer is not the answer. Of course the answer is that it is in the Qur'an. Nice try (well, actually is was a ridiculous try).
Because they can believe does not mean they can back it up even with their book. And if that were true then you would be able to tell me why so many muslims believe in a peaceful god.

But never because of what Jesus did according to the bible. Islamic jihad is directly attributable to what the Qur'an says and what Mohamed did.
Men create jihads, not a god.

Utter nonsense, and you know it. Give your head a sheik.
Really! Do you think these books of religion are anything other than stories. The old ones that tried to explain the world and the new ones that profit from telling you what the world looks like.

That is a statement that you neither can support nor are even remotely qualified to make.
Ok! So your reason as to why some people might go around saying they hear voices in their heads telling them god wants them to kill people. I really do not need to have a degree in psychology to understand that such a person is better off locked up and drugged out in some psych unit.

No, but you can force them to live by a set of religious beliefs as is done in much of the Muslim world,
I am not sure you can say that is really true considering how many of those countries have wars and terrorist actions.

Of course not. As Hitchens said: These are their FAVORITE toys, and they will not be giving them up until (paraphrasing Huxley) "people stop fearing death".

Which Hitchens said he imagined will be quite a long time.
I agree, religion is basically a death cult.

We spend the winter (your summer) in Avalon Beach, NSW. If you're close we should meet for coffee and hash this out in person.

And with that I'll leave you to take your evening troll by yourself.
Says the guy who just trolled me with, "You're either lying or ignorant."

I'm way smarter than you, but you'll never hear me say that unless you accuse me of being ignorant.

See how that works?

Please tell me you're not really as thick as it appears, and that you're just having a laugh.
If your argument is that muslims living under religious regimes are opressed then I agree. If your argument is that all muslims are opressed regardless of where they live then I disagree.
