The President has adopted Putin's version of ending the war in Ukraine

Trump just wants the war to end. Whatever gets that done is okay with him.

If a ceasefire and then peace negotiations will do it...good.

If just peace negotiations is what it'll take...good.

It appears that Putin doesn't like the first alternative. No problem. Trump will go with the second alternative, instead.

The only question now is whether Zelensky and his masters in the EU will go for the second alternative or if they'll insist on keeping the war going.
A war that "ends" on the terms of the aggressor is not an actual end to the war, because you haven't addressed any of the ****ing root causes of the problem and you've literally rewarded evil.

How are you people this myopic. I guess just like everything else with you folk you want symbolic "wins" without actually fixing any issues or addressing any problems.

This is such a spineless take from anyone who claims to be on the "I'm a tough alpha male and so is Trump" side of the equation - framing the victims of this war as somehow being the aggressors, like fascists do in almost every situation.

The European officials want to ensure that Mr. Trump has not pivoted too close to the Russian side, and does not try to strong-arm Mr. Zelensky into a deal that will ultimately sow the seeds of Ukraine’s dissolution. And they want to safeguard against the risk of the United States, the linchpin of European security since NATO’s creation in 1949, undermining that interest."
"In a post to Truth Social Sunday night, Trump appeared to place the onus of ending the war on Zelenskyy, while emphasizing that Ukraine must give up Russian-annexed Crimea and its hopes of joining NATO — a key demand from Putin," NBC.

NBC reports, "Trump and Putin spoke on the phone after Trump’s meeting with Zelenskyy and European leaders."

The meeting at the White House is over, and no agreements were made public.

All we have is what Trump thinks will happen next. Don't hold your breath. Trump has a tendency to embellish himself.

We know Trump wants Putin and Zelensky to meet. Although neighbors, that hasn't happened in five years.

We know Zelensky wants to meet with Putin.

We know the NATO leaders want Putin and Zelensky to meet.

The Western media avoids mentioning as to whether Putin wants to meet with Zelensky. Most believe he does not.

U.S. President Donald Trump interrupted his talks in Washington with European leaders to call Russian President Vladimir Putin, an EU diplomat told Reuters on Monday.

Republicans continue their silence.

Of course he has.
That is his new marching orders from his boss, Putin.

Can Trump sink any lower?

Through his press secretary, Trump said that Putin agreed to meet with Zelensky.

"Karoline Leavitt said President Putin agreed to a meeting with President Zelensky when the Russian leader spoke to President Trump on the phone on Monday," the Times.

It is pretty sad that most Americans -- excluding clueless Republicans -- are inclined to believe the Kremlin over the Trump White House.

The Kremlin has not agreed to a Putin/Zelensky meet. Putin does not respect Zelensky. He wants to speak with someone with greater stature -- the gullible Trump for starters. Putin has said nothing about meeting with the Ukrainian leader.

Knowing Putin has not agreed to meet with Zelensky, did Trump undermine the White House?

"We're going to find out about President Putin in the next couple of weeks," Trump said on Tuesday. "It's possible that he doesn't want to make a deal."

Still another example of Trump talking too much. Other than making another headline, there was no reason to weaken one's own position, which is exactly what Trump did.

Putin will meet with Trump any time.

"IF THERE WAS NO UKRAINE THERE WOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN A WAR! AM I RIGHT? I'M SO RIGHT. NO ONE EVER GIVES ME CREDIT FOR BEING SO RIGHT, AND THAT'S OK."

Another example of Trump living in his very own fantasy world.

He could only say this on Fox, otherwise known as the Trump channel. Anywhere else, he would be laughed off the set.

“I had a very successful meeting with President Zelensky and now I thought it would be better if they met without me, just to see — I want to see what goes on. You know, they had a hard relationship very bad, very bad relationship,” Trump said on “The Mark Levin Show” on Tuesday evening.

“And now we’ll see how they do. And if necessary — and it probably would be — but if necessary, I’ll go and I’ll probably be able to get it closed. I just want to see what happens at the meeting. So they’re in the process of setting it up, and we’re going to see what happens.”

Is Trump trying to prove how bad a President he can be?

On Fox he blames Ukraine for starting the war.

First, Trump responded to question by saying that Ukraine would “get a lot of land.”

Then he blamed Ukraine for the war.

“Russia is a powerful military nation. You know, whether people like it or not, it's a powerful nation. It's a much bigger nation,” Trump said. “It's not a war that should have been started. You don't do that. You don't take on a nation that's 10 times your size."

Fox is watched by Republicans. Is this crap they want to hear?

We know the forum's Republicans can't deal with the reality of what their President is doing. Their silence will continue.
