The Origin of Antisemitism

First of all, this is one of the best videos I've seen surrounding the underlying issues of the conflict, how people are capable of turning off morality and empathy, the hypocrisy of human shields, etc. But at around the half way point they discuss something that I've been saying for quite a while. The origin of antisemitism is not rooted in race or even religion. It's rooted in Left versus Right ideology, or Progressive vs. Nationalistic Ideology. Of Bernie style politics versus Trump style politics. The moral philosophy of Jewish ideology is around challenging power, of human empathy. In Germany, Jews were widely perceived as representing Leftist Ideology. That they were behind the Socialist Movements. They antagonized the established hierarchical order.

Look at centers of power that the right-wing in America have targeted for decades. The News Media. Journalism. Hollywood. So-called Liberal Cultural influences. That they also control the flow of Capital. At the same time, the standard conspiracy theory is that Jews control all of these institutions and cultural outlets. The Great Replacement Theory is literally about Jewish Puppet Masters organizing the migration effort to take over the White Populations, which is also a threat to ultra-nationalism and thus fascism. Remember that the Jews in Nazi Germany weren't the only target of the Holocaust. Socialists, Communists, Trade Unions, the LGBTQ were also heavily targeted. All challenges to power, all come from left-wing ideology or acceptance.

I would argue that this, more than any other factor, is the root cause of antisemitism. Hell, the story of Jesus is about a progressive Jew challenging power, spreading socialist-adjacent values, and ultimately being executed for it -- before the story was transformed into what I consider a bastardization of the intended message.

And if this is the root cause of antisemitism, what is the reason for left-wing antisemitism? Anyone? Bueller?

This dude had his tagline claiming that belief in the right of Israel to exist is anti-semitism (specifically, "zionism is anti-semitism") and acts like Hamas are just a bunch of fully justified freedom fighters and not the ISIS-sibling that they are. I don't think I'll be taking any lectures about anti-semitism from him.

Also (and, this may shock the OP, but) anti-semitism is just a bit older than the modern state of Israel.

The Gospel of John is the origin of antisemitism because it puts the blame of Jesus death on the Jews. As to modern antisemitism, there is right wing antisemitism and leftwing antisemitism and they really aren't related.

Not only are they discriminated and hated because of their success, but they also have to put up with historical and cultural oppression going back thousands of years. It's no surprise that they fight to survive, and then... people hate them for that.

Which, intentionally or not, summarizes what is clearly an ignorant ramble and confirms the initial suspicion of all of it being a load of bumpf.

The root of antisemitism lies in the sense of otherness. After the diaspora, Jewish people lived in Ghettos throughout Europe, intermarrying almost completely within their own and keeping their identity and customs.

They were only allowed to have certain professions, but in those professions they thrived. This led to resentment due to their otherness which was then codified By Wilhelm Marr into a series of canards in Elders of Zion into a series of canards promoting the notion that Jews are sneaky,manipulative and loyal only to themselves.

Those who hate them are unhappy people why buy into the notion that Jews have somehow deprived them of what is rightfully their.

That is why it is so common in today's illiberal left among those who see themselves as a victim.

Here's another basic summary. Some countries like the US are powerful. Some colonialists fought for political power in those countries and gained it. Various propaganda was created to promote the colonialism, with things like making the word 'anti-Semitic' about the most powerful political attack, but defining to mean 'any opposition to the colonialism.'

As a result, the powerful countries came to not relate to the Palestinians, to not care about their rights, even to dismiss all of them either as 'terrorists' or not important, while making the colonialists the most blindly supported ally, literally with a 'partner' for every member of Congress who was under their domination, about 80% telling what them to do and say, giving them more 'aid' than anyone, giving them a UN veto, and much more.

I don't remember seeing any "left-wing anti-Semitism". There is opposition to things like political corruption, human rights abuses, genocide. Jewish opponents of those things are constantly persecuted by the rogue state and its allies, who are some of the right-wing anti-Semites despite claiming ethnic Jewish heritage.

Right-wing antisemitism is typically in the form of global Jewish conspiracies and Jews controlling the government, media and so on. Left-wing antisemitism comes in the form of toxic identity politics where you have absurdities like campus protests where signs are held up like "LGBTQ Students for Hamas", Jewish students being attacked or harrassed on campuses and so on.

There are various types, from the ignorant hateful bigots to the rogue state itself. Ironically, the rogue state would love to boost any claims of 'Jews control the media' as anti-Semitism to be shunned, because they want to silence criticism of the influence they have over much media for their state, which isn't about Judaism at all, and likely most Jews in the US oppose. They conflate 'Jews' and their rogue state for that reason. AIPAC DOES control most of the government.

There is a long history largely based on European Christians being bigoted against Jews. As I understand, they were treated often as outcasts and left to do the 'dirtiest' jobs, which, it turns out, included for religious reasons 'money changing', which led to the empowerment of those Jews as they were enriched and money became more important, and to anti-Semitic stereotypes, e.g., Shylock. The modern era includes a whole new issue about it from the rogue state.

Well, since Zionism exponentially accelerates antisemitism (unless you're on the right-wing and need a Get Out of Antisemitism Card, like Elon Musk), I am very comfortable in my assertion. Zionism IS Antisemitism. Do you know who agrees with me? People like Albert Einstein.

Jesus was a progressive Jew who challenged power, and was crucified by the right-wing establishment. That's the REAL lesson of Jesus. Do you think Nick Fuentes hates Jews because they killed Jesus?

If you watch the video, former Zionist and not anti-Zionist Peter Beinart correctly says that people who hate Jews tend to hate other groups. Blacks, LGBTQ, Arabs, Women, etc. Their brain is wired to think this way. Can the same be said of the progressive left wing?

- It's not racial or ethnic.
- It's not ideological.
- It's not even religious.

Progressive Leftwing antisemitism doesn't really exist. There is anti-Zionist sentiment among progressives, and you have to do mental gymnastics (like @Mr Person does) to remotely link it to anti-Semitism. The same people who believe that anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism are the same people who believe that you can't be racist if you like Clarence Thomas.

Left-wing antisemitism is rooted in toxic identity politics. For example, we had college protests where protesters were holding signs up "LGBTQ supports Hamas...", and other obsurdities.
