We all know MAGA seems to be obsessed with transgender women.

Is it because their sexual obsession makes them loathe that these people even exist?

I tend to think people are pretty sincere when they say that they believe transsexuality is truly perverse and is fundamentally contradictory to more essentialist interpretations of the genders and how they relate with one another. The closeted sex fantasy stuff seems like a weird assumption to be honest, even if it's circumstantially true in rare cases.

"Rare" is a bit of a stretch. It's more like a trope. The loudest homophobe tends to be a closet case. That loudest racist tend to be the biggest viewers of black and POC adult content. The loudest transphobe tend to be the biggest viewers of trans porn. Also fun fact, if you're arachnophobic, you're actually more likely to notice spiders than someone who isn't.

I'm aware of the trope, though I'm not sure if there's concrete evidence that it's necessarily the case, at least not to any absurd degree.

Perhaps I'm naive, but I try to treat people as-if they're being sincere. I generally reject the ulterior motive and closet case stuff since even if that's true in some cases, it's certainly not true in most cases, and so it's not really informative when discussing national politics.
 
I don't think this is it at all.

The right-wingers are all about APPEARANCES. The strange part is that the appearances don't even have to be good ... they just have to be really, really uniform. What seems to make them tingle is a Big Parade with everybody looking like clone warriors. They don't like them too tall, too short, definitely not too fat. Long hair (or dark skin color?) is right out.

And transgenders are defiantly NOT what they expect. And that kind of challenge to the primacy of Uncreativity, well, it's deeply theologically disturbing. It's as if the Destroyer didn't sit on the celestial throne - as if smarmy bullying weren't the center core of all human activity.

Now I don't want to make out that left versus right is "Good versus Evil", because it's not really that simple (or photogenic). I think there are five fallen Angles who play with us all, leading us each on to our own troubles ... the Angel of Adoration, the Angel of Understanding, the Angel of Sacrifice, the Angel of Honor, and the Angel of Perfection to lead them all. Now beauty is a type of ugliness, and so all those who celebrate things beautiful, ugly, prized and despised are drawn to the first of these; but all those who so gladly throw away every sort of adornment and detail, whether it be a hair or a person or a baby on the sacrificial flame, are drawn to the third. The first receives evil but doesn't give it; the third gives evil but does not receive it. And so they are the bitterest of rivals in their service to the Angel of Perfection. Just so, the right-wingers are filled with endless hate for the transgender folks.
 
There was a thread about trans people posted almost every week by MAGA members but it has died down recently. I guess they finally got their fix by viewing trans porn. Most of the rest of us don't care. Live and let live and all that stuff.
