Joe’s a nice guy. He will call Barack occasionally to chat. But he will have plenty of his own professional advisors to guide him.

Since Biden seems to respect his opinion, and Obama generally has reasonable opinions, he will probably have a degree of influence. Although Obama generally seems to keep a distance from politics these days other than to save the country from Trump.
